Latest weekly game and achievement stats for TA members
Good news everyone! We made history this week!
There was an incredible sale on Games on Demand which made a very clear impact on the Stats this week. Don't believe me? Take a look yourself and realize that the combination of a sale, gamerscore contests and easy overall completions is enough to get our community very excited.
This report is for the period June 18th to June 24th 2012.
Games Started 19,399 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 30,238 games between them (1,546 different games).
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is not only the cutest game on this chart, but it was far and away the most popular title this week. You'll see it again next week as Lego Batman 2 is going to break 3,000 gamers very soon.
Lollipop Chainsaw now has 5,251 total gamers which puts it just under half the mark set by its stablemate, Shadows of the Damned. Enough of those retail games which have an actual disc, lets talk digital goods.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Surf's Up and Open Season were all on sale for under $10. It turns out that you people like easy achievements. By "you people", I mean, of course, people that like hearing that achievement unlocked noise every few minutes.
Top Retail Games Started
Magic: The Gathering - DotP 2013 keeps the tradition alive. The Magic 2013 Core Set expansion for the physical game will be out very soon as well, which has me excited because Mutilate is being reprinted. I love that card. I also love how we can now count on a XBLA version of Magic: The Gathering every year just as we can a new version of Madden. It is a good time to be a geek.
Sonic CD, Sonic 4: Episode I and Sonic Adventure were the recent Deal of the Week. Despite all the criticism about this generation of Sonic, the 2D Sonic games sell like hotcakes.
Top Arcade Games Started
Fling (WP) is adorable! I know nothing about this game other then you actually fling those cute little mops of hair from the game tile. It's also the latest game from Miniclip, who is quickly becoming the most prolific developer for the Windows Phone.
Final Fantasy (WP) remains the best selling Final Fantasy available on the Windows Phone. Hopefully it will not be the only Final Fantasy available for much longer.
Top Windows Phone Games Started
Games Completed 7,031 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 9,837 games between them (1,134 different games).
Going on a comment from a few weeks ago regarding the disparity between people that complete the original 1k and those that complete the DLC, here comes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The gap between those that have completed the base game and those that have completed all of the DLC will approach 10,000 gamers in a few more weeks.
You'll notice a few of the Games on Demand titles are, of course, on this chart. It's amazing what happens when Games on Demand are aggressively priced compared to their retail counterparts.
Top Retail Games Completed
The Walking Dead is going to remain on this chart all summer long, lingering like some sort of corpse. Why? Well all subsequent episodes are counted as DLC under The Walking Dead title. That would be why the incredible Game Content team has renamed that game page.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition continues to pad its total. Thankfully the death grip it had on the XBLA stats has finally been relaxed. Magic: The Gathering - DotP 2013 is actually lower than I was expecting given the number of people that posted in the comments and on my friend feed about how they wanted to be the first one to finish the game.
Top Arcade Games Completed
Collapse! (WP) watch 2013: Now at 92.85% completion.
Rest of the chart: well, we're used to them.
Top Windows Phone Games Completed
Achievements Won 48,315 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 621,767 achievements online between them (43,754 different achievements).
Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's something a 5 year old built which vaguely resembles a helicopter but you nod your head and listen to the parent explain how "gifted" their kid is!
Take a look at the actual achievements though and you'll note that the community has ripped through the story. Top achievement is for finishing chapter 1 and the bottom achievement is for finishing chapter 7. Soon we'll see this game on completion charts over and over again.
Top Retail Achievements Won
I approve of this chart. There's no Minecraft.
Top Arcade Achievements Won
If not for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, we would have had a week of nothing but achievement sweeps. Stupid CoD.
Top Windows Phone Achievements Won
Total TrueAchievements won by Genre
Not only is LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes part of Action-Adventure, so are all of the top Games on Demand titles. This gives us a rare week in which Action-Adventure tops the chart. Magic: The Gathering DotP - 2013 was not able to raise Card and Board by itself, though Simulation is continuing to drop back to where it belongs.

That's all for this week, as the odd layout of dates from year to year mean we have no Stats Flashback. Next week, I will be out of town and some other poor Newshound will be filling in, perhaps some Newbiehound that has no idea what they are getting into.
Regardless, I'll be back the second week of July! Sadly, that's the dead zone between retail releases and the start of Summer of Arcade. Awesome. |

| Yep, Lollipop Chainsaw is continuing to chug along, even though it got topped by it's fellow Warner Bros.-published game Lego Batman 2. In fact, Warner Bros. Games has won the Most Starts title for the 2nd straight week, so no qualms from me. |

I'll finish Lego Batman this week than start Amazing Spider-Man. I don't play Lego games often...but this one, with it's open world and super hero smorgasbord, has been really fun. And my kids love it. So long as they leave my save file alone, it's been a great bonding experience!
Thanks for the stats as usual...I look forward to them every Sunday! |

| A comment about how many started Fling and how few have completed it wouldn't have gone amiss. |

I'd like to know if the Level 40 achievement in Frenzy on Fling is the toughest WP achievement (by TA ratio) ever- it would have to be close. |

| Heard Lego Batman 2 was a little glitchy (not uncommon for a Lego game) so I think I might wait for a patch before I pick it up. |
