Eventhough many vital features are comparitively not available in the console versions of the game ( when compared to the PC version ) the game itself, map packs , and the Premium memberships are priced either the same or HIGHER than the pc version.

Do you guys think its fair to pay the same amount for the stripped down experience ( when compared to THE Best experience for the same or lower cost. )

1 - I'm confused. Why do you feel the Xbox version is "stripped down"?

2 - Many gamers aren't comfortable with keyboard and mouse controls, don't have a computer that can handle high spec requirements, or prefer Xbox Live to PC gaming.

When I buy an Xbox game I don't have to look at the box to make sure it will work with my setup because I already know it will work. I avoid buying PC games because I don't know the exact specs of my PC, and I don't want to have to dump more than the price of the game into it to be able to play it.

Considering how much my Mrs plays Battlefield 3 Premium, it would be a bargain if it were four thousand dollars.

1. The game runs natively at 768p only, max player support is 24vs24 only, maps are shortened.

2. I share the same opinion and to be frank, I can't even think of affording a gaming PC as I'm a student (right now).

Just wanted to know others opinions, THANK YOUtoast

Don't worry, the same thought process hits me too. PC gamers with impressive systems can have the maximum settings for audio and graphics and undoubtedly have a better playing experience with that respect. Xbox 360's version of Battlefield 3 undeniably suffers on visuals and audio in comparison.

PC Gamers indeed also get bigger player support which is a disadvantage for console gamers. Especially since some of the BF3 maps (especially in the new Armored Kill DLC) feel like they are more appropriate for a larger batch of players. The population for the huge Armored Kill maps doesn't hurt the action too sorely to spoil the experience, but it definitely looks more suitable for the PC Gamers.

It is also very irritating to see that - for a better experience - PC Gamers also pay less. But as the first reply notes: Gaming PC's are expensive whether purchased as an item, or whether customly built following purchases of the appropriate products. It's also a lot simpler for console gamers as the first reply says. We buy the game, enter the disc and play. PC Gamers need system requirements to meet the games demands, they also need to install the game first, etc.

And again like the first post suggests - BF3 on PC can have much more competitive, intense games. It feels like BF3 has those on console, but there are very serious, tactical and talented players on PC. Sometimes the experience is more fulfilling on consoles for those reasons.

I prefer the Xbox for FPS games, but I do wish EA would stop with all the Premium stuff... and its not like everyone can afford to dole out another £40
