Viator Obscurus has just submitted some Achievement Flag Info for Dark Souls (PC):
You can view the flags they submitted here: Flag submission by Viator Obscurus for Dark Souls (PC)
Viator Obscurus said:"Reach Lordran" appears to be bugged for everyone right now. I'm pretty sure that I've unlocked it yesterday, but when I played again today, I've unlocked the achievement again with a new timestamp. Here's a thread with two people experiencing the same at the moment:
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38...
I've also checked my recently met players in Games for Windows Live and took a look at their achievements and they either haven't unlocked the achievement, but have later story achievements, or they've unlocked it in an unusual order like me. As I've checked around 10 player profiles from my list and all show this behavior, I would say that the achievement is bugged for everyone. |

I've looked through some profiles here on TA. Bugged for everyone may not be true, but every second or third person who owns this achievement has it unlocked in an impossible order (if it would unlock right). The first three achievements for Dark Souls should always be:
1. Enkindle 2. Estus Flask 3. Reach Lordran
You can crosscheck this with the console version.
I've also found another thread regarding this on the Steam forums.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=32525...
The people there are describing the same problem: The achievement unlocks, but it won't register to your profile unless you make the trip back to the starting area of the game and then head to Lordran again. |

| A quick question, did the achievement unlock in game but did just not synchronise or didn't the achievement unlock at all the first time round? You mention you are sure to have unlocked it previously, did you by that mean meet the requirements or really see it unlock? |

I saw it unlock that's what confused me so much when I got the achievement again and what led me to look for other people with the same problem. The thing is: If it would be a synchronization problem, I should have the achievement without a timestamp once I connect back to the internet, right? And I didn't recover my account.
This whole situation is really weird and I have actually no clue what the problem may be, but so many people with timestamped achievements have this one achievement out of order, or not at all if they never returned to the starting area, which shouldn't actually be possible. |

It happened to me as well. The achievement unlocked and i could see it on my GFWL profile, but it didn't register on xbox.com. And when i logged in to GFWL the day after, the achievement (Reach Lordran) was gone. Weird.
Im not sure about this, but when i unlocked the cheevo i didn't get any points for it on GFWL despite the fact that it was shown as unlocked. |

The same thing happened to me, having to replay the game all over again just to get some achievements which I'm sure said that they were unlocked before. The same happened to "Ring the Bell (Quelaag's Domain).
There's just so much wrong with this game... Damn. |

Unfortunately the Buggy flag does not account for cases where the achievement by itself is just fine but the client does not transmit or synchronise the achievement properly. We had hoped that the recent update to account for these issues with the Windows Phone had fixed these problems as well but apparently it didn't. Still, with the release of the new Windows 8 platform, this might finally cease to be an issue.
In a nutshell, thank you for your submission but our flag definition of Buggy does not account for this case. |

I changed some cooperative flags compared to the console version: - Enkindle - Estus Flask - Reach Lordran These can't be achieved in co-op as co-op isn't available at the beginning of the game.
- Ring the Bell (Undead Church) - Ring the Bell (Quelaag's Domain) - Reach Anor Londo - Lordvessel - To Link the Fire - Dark Lord I think that these shouldn't have a co-op flag. While you can fight the corresponding bosses with another player, the actual achievement requires another interaction with an object/NPC from the player after the boss fight. At this point no other player can be in the game as summoning is not possible anymore in this area. |

I'm having a similar problem. Dark lord popped but disappeared the first time. I finished the game for a third time and it was my final achievement. It and The Dark Soul popped but only Dark Lord stuck. I started a new game to see if unlocking Enkindle again (technically) would work and it did. However, it is only showing in my GFWL section and not on my console.
Did anyone find out if recovering gamertag fixed this? Definitely a painful way to have 40/41. |

Achievement: Reach Lordran For me this achievement opened two times, one in the correct order and another when I came back in Undead Asylum to get the Titanite Slab. Returning to the Lordran, achievement open again. |

| My friend unlocked the Dark Lord achievement and he hasn't even finished the game yet. |

We have added the flags as you suggested in your submission. We won't add the Buggy flag for the problem you described. Issue with achievement synchronisation or unlocking, especially when purchased through Steam is not covered by the Buggy flag. It is a problem that goes beyond what flags can convey. We are aware of the problem and should it not be fixed, we might add some way of notifying users in the future.
Thank you all for your contributions. |
