Just heard from one of the more unsavoury underground news sites that files have been released that allow JTAG and RGH hacked consoles to access XBL.
Why should you care?
Well those consoles can run unsigned and modified code which mean they can run hacked games and use downloaded cheats to their hearts content but they were not able to play on Live without a instant ban. With the release of these files this has all changed, they can now cheat online too! Expect to see weird stuff happening on the popular multilayer games soon. I'm sure it will get patched and these consoles banned in due course but in the meantime if you see anything questionable when you are playing online it could be caused by this and you should report it! |

| I haven't heard of a modded console that hasn't been able to access Xbox live. There's always a new patch, and Microsoft always figures it out and bans the consoles with the quickness. Don't worry. I give it a week until they crush it. |

There is no way Microsoft would let this go unnoticed. I remember a few years back I was constantly getting customers calling me to "unban" there consoles, when the first ban hammer came.
First question I always ask is, "Is your xbox modded to play burned games?" and the answer was always "yes".
As far as in game hacks go, I think those are harder to detect than modded games., because when burning games, you must "stealth" the game, if its not done correctly then it puts of some type of red flag through xbox LIVE and you get banned.
Besides the "stealthing" the more recent LIVE updates will flash your drive back to its original specs, so if a drive has been "spoofed" ( basically the drive in your xbox is not the original) you will get an update error and your xbox becomes unusable. Mostly benqs and Lite ons get replaced by Hitachis in this procedure as I assume they are the easiest to mod
In the end, people will always find a work around for stuff like this until they implement another block
Please take into consideration that these are not complete facts, just what I have read and compiled over the years as I'm not into the modding/hacking scene. |

| All I know are CoD4, and W@W have them. MW2 may have them, but I'm not entirely sure. |

| This is not about consoles with flashed drive firmware which can only run unmodified retail games! This is about JTAG and RGH consoles which can run any unsigned code which could be anything from normal games to games that have been modified to allow cheating. Normally these consoles would have been instabanned when connecting to Live but now they have a way around it. This means any game can be modified and cheated, not just the usual suspects of CoD and Battlefield. |

Then Microsoft fixes it and people find a new way to get around it. Then they fix that and people find another new way. And the cycle continues. This is nothing new. |
