I know we all want and like to be shiny happy people, but is there any way we could get an ignore feature for the forums? Or the site in general? I don't know how monumental of an undertaking it would be to implement, but this would be a very welcome feature.
I know I can just not pay attention to forum trolls and jerks, but I can only bite my tongue for so long... and I know there are plenty of people that would love to put me on their black list, so win-win haha.
Seriously, I've been biting my tongue for almost a year now on a couple of people as I've never seen them have a single good thing to say about anyone. I think do a good job and keeping my cakehole corked for the most part, but I do fly off the handle every now and then and I don't like doing that. I'd much rather just tell them, "Welcome to my blacklist" and move on. The TA mods are great and normally do a good job keeping the forums under control, but it would be sweet to never see another post from some people.
I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I don't remember seeing anyone bring it up (I could've even replied to similar posts and forgot about them haha). Is there any way we could get something like this done? Maybe put it to vote to see what others think if TA is willing to do that? |

| Seems pointless really, just don't read the posts of people you don't like. |

And of course two of the main people I am talking about (Hoffman and Mystic Typh00n) decide to chime in on mah thread! Haha, just kidding.Of course I don't have issue with either one of you... yet.
I think it would be a nice feature to add. I hate being a jerk (even to people that are jerks to me), but I'm going to defend myself if someone is being an assclown towards me or my friends or is just being a jerk in general toward people. This would keep me from having to show the assclown side of myself when I can just click on the little ignore button. I have removed threads I was participating in and I enjoyed being a part of just to stay away from jerks I don't like as this is the only way I can be sure I won't speak up when someone continues to be a jerk for another 2-3 pages of that thread. I can handle them calling me names, but when they keep dragging it out I am going to say something and show a side of myself I'd rather not show. |

I absolutely agree. I can't help but read the posts from someone who is being a cock (rooster) so I'd rather them just not be there +1 |

| I wouldn't mind it, but we need a valid way to unblock people first. As it stands right now, you have to have a message in your inbox from the person to unblock. You can't unblock them from anywhere else. Once any messages from them get archived, you can't unblock them from there. So they need to send another message to get one in your inbox... but wait, they're blocked. |

That's not going to a problem for me. If I ignore someone for something, then I don't want to see anything they wrote and I definitely don't want to toss PMs back and forth with them.
But some if not most of the forums I've seen with an ignore feature still show the person you ignore posting in a thread, it's just their post is missing. The ignore button is replaced with a "view post" button... or something like that. That may unblock them, but I can't say for sure. |

After reading some of the posts on the cheater thread, I would like to bring this back up for consideration. I won't deny anyone's privilege to say what they want, but I think I've finally hit the point where I *really* would like to have individual user's posts disappear from the thread while I read through it.
I don't ask for much. |

I have a few ideas for the implementation.
1. Add "ignore forum posts from this person" button in the user area of the post. 2. Clicking the box will make all posts from that person disappear from the forums you see. 3. If there are posts hidden in this way in a particular thread, "show hidden posts" button appears alongside of "add to email updates" and "add to my threads button". Clicking this shows the hidden post in that thread, hopefully in a distinctive color (like grey). |

| With the way quotes are dealt with on this site, you would see things that have been quoted. |

Still, even if only the original posts disappear, that means I see less filth, so I'd be quite happy about that. Also, if someone is stupid enough to constantly quote and respond to troll posts, I can ignore them too |

What Ryot said is my wish too. Only seeing a certain person's name made me angry in that thread being a close minded fool and not looking further then his nose.
I have it with more people on the forums. Only hating and looking for fights, childish behaviour and go on.
+1 from me. |

| I'm still voting for this feature! haha. Glad I stayed out of the thread everyone is referring to though lol. It would certainly help the mods out a lot and it's not like we're requesting something that may be offensive to others. |

Also, if someone is stupid enough to constantly quote and respond to troll posts, I can ignore them too It works this way on the GameFAQs forum and never has an ignore feature been so sweet. Or necessary. Usually when someone quotes they're only quoting the stupid that someone is responding to directly, so it's usually a whole lot less stupid to be gone through. |

AndyLSimmons said:With the way quotes are dealt with on this site, you would see things that have been quoted.Since the quotes reflect the author by putting the Gamertag in (like yours above this quote) this can be filtered as well. Most users do not split quotes into multiple parts and if they do they still tend to add the Gamertag above all quotes.
