Its kind of difficult to go to each thread and check which are looking for new owners if you were interested.

Don't really want to do all that work and have other peoples names against the walkthrough once it's written.

Thanks.
I feel what Lafta's saying...

Pardon me if i possibly come off ungrateful, even though its an honor to be able to write a walkthrough that becomes published and copyrighted. The first page should show who the editors were and then who the original writer/author is.

Obviously the content team works hard at what they do, but the writers credit should be under a seperate title.

Just my opinion
As a member of the Content Team I might be slightly biased, but the site's walkthrough page clearly lists who the owner of the walkthrough is.
Yah! I feel like I am being totally recognized for my efforts.
I have to agree with what's been said previously. Its all very well seeing that you are the original writer when you look at the walkthroughs page but when you load the actual guide following the link from the game page you just see a list of everyone involved. Its not too bad for me since they are all in alphabetical order so mine comes up first but I just feel like given all the effort I've put into my guides that its lost in a mess of names. Its difficult to argue this point without seeming ungrateful to the content team but its just how I feel. It wasn't an issue for me before reading these comments but now its something I'd like to see changed.

Hi,

I remove any walkthroughs from the list that owners are no longer interested in working on. If you see the words "looking for new owner", that means that the walkthrough has some information added into it and is not a "blank slate". The thread remains simply because that's how it is, but I post in the thread that we are looking for a new owner simply to avoid confusion from people posting on how the walkthrough is going. This is the main reason I keep this list. I have sent out all the necessary PMs to "inactive" walkthroughs and once a month has passed (which should be in a week or so) I will remove all records of walkthroughs I have not received messages from. Hope that clears that up.

Secondly, I completely understand and respect your point on the owner label. It is currently on TA's coding to-do list.

Thanks,
Steve

Do you think that CSI: Hard Evidence really need a walkthrough?

My opinion is that some very very low ratio games doesn't need a walkthrough at all.

I kinda think we may need a thread to discuss about everything concerning the walkthroughs here. Doubts, suggestions, improvements, comments...this thread has quite a good amount of posts which aren't related with the situation of the walkthroughs but sound like more general issues. Just saying.

Hey Amendocrem. While I understand your point, I have no interest in constantly making judgement calls on whether games do or do not need walkthroughs. Plus, it increases our site completion percentage laugh

Just saying.Feel free to do so, I agree that this thread is really not the place for such topics. The only reason I leave it unlocked is so people can alert me if I forgot to post something in the OP or if I want to announce something. Either the site wishlist or a thread in the walkthroughs board that we are currently in would both be acceptable.

Hope that clears things up.

I'm working on Stranglehold right now and would be willing to write a guide for it as I do it myself. However, I don't even see one started.

However, I don't even see one started. You can ask for the permission to write a walkthrough here. IMHO you should wait to finish that one: I can see the advantage of writing it as you go the first time (the advantage being: it's quicker), but the result of a walkthrough written with more experience is usually better. And don't forget to look here and there to check for information people needed and may need for that game.

dont really see anywhere to post this, but while editing my walkthrough i noticed that the spell checker really sucks, constantly telling me words that are spelt right are wrong and it ignores grammar mistakes.

I found that I had to right click the text box and enable my spell checker from that menu. Usually it should be just enabled. Perhaps the same would help you.

Also, the spell checker on the page might be set for British English.
