Hidden Path have revealed that for four consecutive weeks starting on June 2nd, a new pair of maps will be released for Defense Grid: The Awakening. Each of these maps will have a Campaign, and 4 challenges to play and will cost just 80 MSP per pack. The packs are:

Defense Grid: Resurgence Map Pack 1 - June 2, 2010
Service Interruption and Height of Confusion
Two new challenging Defense Grid environments are the first two released in the Resurgence series. An obstructed road to the core housing gives the aliens a significant advantage in Service Interruption. Choose your towers wisely! Height of Confusion has a wide open surface, making for endless possibilities! Build anywhere you want in your defense of the power cores!Defense Grid: Resurgence Map Pack 2 - June 9, 2010
Risk Exposure and Roundabout
Don’t miss out on the next two Resurgence maps. Risk Exposure will allow you to discover your ability to defend two independent power core housings! Limited build spaces will test your skills as you divide your resources to discover optimal tower placement. On Roundabout, you will be faced with numerous possibilities for pathing and a variety of elevation changes. This one will have you going in circles to contain the alien menace!Defense Grid: Resurgence Map Pack 3 - June 16, 2010
Urban Planning and Tactical Diversion
It’s the third of four great map packs in the Resurgence series. Urban Planning is a dense environment with restrictive build spaces, forcing difficult decisions against continuously attacking hordes. In Tactical Diversion, survey the small, snow covered platform and consider numerous possibilities. But be prepared for the aerial assault!Defense Grid: Resurgence Map Pack 4 - June 23, 2010
Kill Zone and Outflow
The final instalment of the Resurgence series includes two more environments sure to challenge your tactical planning. In Kill Zone, will you construct your defenses near the spiral road in, the spiral road out, or the open platform in the middle? Perhaps all three! But you’ll need to be on your toes to deter the invaders. Overflow has numerous connected platforms that will provide countless options to turn back the enemies. Will you be able to keep the cores safe? These will add achievements, and so far, one new achievement has been added to the game for the first map pack ( in ) so I would assume that similar achievements will be added each week for the relevant map packs as they come, most likely all for 10 GS each!

I would think that they'd put two achievements each week, because there's two campaigns. You know, an achievement for beating each campaign?

They're just for earning gold on both the maps in each pack.

Well, the one so far is, but I think it goes without saying that it'll carry on that way.

10 for each pack would leave its total at 240 though which would be unusual. Perhaps they'll slip in a bonus 10 somewhere.

There will be one for beating all the challenge modes one one of them (getting Gold I think). The Steam achievements have been available for a while now, but the maps aren't there yet.

ok. this game was good. It wasn't the best(or close) to some free tower defence games online. but this DLC GARBAGE is just assanine. Battlefield BC2 (also as much as I hate to admit it was good for the time I played it even though I hate EA) has the same dlc going on, $2 for each achievement, worth 15gs each. This is the biggest load of shit I have ever seen yet so far over the things they have done on xbox live.

I cant stand the fact of the matter that the deffinition of DLC-Content for a game that was rushed, has mad glitches, allows them to make more money off their rushed game allowing time for a sequel, and usually the DLC is linked to EA or certain major titles.

also how is GAME ROOM allowed to charge 3 dollars per game when you could find a regular xbox game(or maybe ps2) with over 30 of those garbage games for the price of 1 on game room.

1000-1220-1250-1500-1750-2000 and some other bs numbers are completed games now as well, what are they thinking. Theres no rules with this garbage DLC anymore.

Every seems to talk so highly of this game. I never played it, but it didn't look like anything special to me when I took a look at it. Maybe I'll have to go reappraise my opinion.

I like it when game developers do DLC like this, it reminds me of The Maw. Shame I don't have the game though...

Personally, I find it odd that people hate the idea of developers adding more to games. That general premise sounds absolutely fantastic to me!

I've been meaning to check this game out. I've also been kicking myself that I didn't buy it when it's price was cut by 50%.

I'd also like to point out that I found a typo: "Each of these maps WITH have a Campaign." I believe the "With" is supposed to be "Will," no?

I'm all down for more Tower Defense. Was thinking about finishing this one off. More maps = more gametime with this gem. Achievements are always nice too :D
