Where would I keep it when not using it?Yeah but it's the same inconvenience in using any pepherial (drums, guitar), if i'm not using it I just put it in the garden shed, next to my real set of drums.

The problem with a table is that due to the layout of my room the only way I can use a table is if I sit at the corner of the bed in which case I have a bed post digging into my crotch. I have a gaming chair which I usually sit on but its on the floor rather than on legs so there is no way I could use a table from there. Did you catch my earlier message about a good way to learn how to take off ABS. I edited a post but then when I had finished you had sent another post. We'll have to race sometime. I get the Slim tomorrow. Nurburgring 3 laps? laugh

HEy for any wheel users.
Stick a bit of sponge (old car sponge or compressed foam sponge) under your brake pedal, then you can really get into your brake pedal!
Adjust the pressure a little too and you WILL get better times.

Just thought ya might like that tip
or any other FM3 stuff

I did try this and felt REALLY unnatural (i'm currently learning to drive a real car as well). I'll go with the standard brake pedal on the official steering wheel. Although I wish Microsoft added a clutch pedal and some sort of lever for the wheel rather than the paddles, but then they would have raised the price of it by £20.

Maybe they should bring out a more advanced version. Like the qwerty chatpad for the controller. This version has a proper gear stick on the side and a clutch pedal. People would buy it, infact I can see people buying the more expensive one even if they don't have any games that make use of the features.

I had a madcatz race wheel for my ps2 years ago, that had a gear stick, no clutch though.... that would be awesome!

There was so much resistance in the wheel that is turned the whole device rather than the wheel. Hell annoying and it is the sole reason why I haven't bought one for Xbox, just incase it has the same problem.

I finally transfered my old harddrive yesterday and the first thing I did was set a fast lap on the Nurburgring,

I used the 2007 Peugeot 908 with STM, TCS and ABS all turned off. I stayed in the cockpit view with all HUD off relying on the dials of the car the entire race. I had suggested line and autobrake off and it was my second lap so I wasn't going from a standing start.

My time was 6:20.044

I reckon I can get it closer to 6:10 if anyone is willing to take up the challenge?

Confused Shelf said:One thing I would say though is I now have the habit of never pulling the left trigger all the way no matter what I'm playing which can be a problem Split/Second.If not using ABS, you should be tapping the trigger in and out sporadically as fast as your trigger finger will allow.

This will mimic cadence braking, like real race drivers who don't use ABS.

If you imagine the brake pads are pressing and releasing against the disk rapidly, so there is never long enough contact for the brakes to lock.

This means you can brake right at the last minute still, without locking your brakes, so basically on off on off as fast as you can physically tap the trigger.
