Flashlights at the ready...
Hey bestseller! Want to enjoy more Alan Wake? Good news then, as The Signal in Alan Wake DLC pack has hit the Marketplace today. The DLC adds eight additional achievements, worth 250G total, and will set you back 560 MSP -- unless you bought the game new. If you did, check your game case for a token card to download the content for free.
If any of you are over-eager and have already redeemed the code before today, don't worry! Microsoft will be sending out new codes to the people who have done that via email, because they're nice like that.
Want to know about what the content actually includes? Well, tough... kind of. But here's a pretty cryptic description from Microsoft themselves:
In the first Game Add-on for Xbox 360 exclusive “Alan Wake” (Microsoft Game Studios), Wake faces a nightmarish threat unlike anything he's ever encountered before -- yet one he's intimately familiar with. The boundaries between reality and nightmare have become disturbingly distorted, threatening to overwhelm Wake’s mind. His only hope of survival lies with following the mysterious signal. Keep your flashlight handy as you get ready to descend into the dark and twisted world of “The Signal.”Finally, click here for the direct link for the DLC on the Xbox.com Marketplace where you can purchase and queue it up for download now. |

I rented it but I have the code.
I'm guessing you need to input the code from the Alan Wake main menu so I need to hire the game again. Maybe do that tonight.
Hopefully it won't be another of those mammoth 3-4 hour levels which only take 30 minutes the next time you do it.
I guess it'll just be a single standalone chapter involving shadows and light. Can't complain when its all for free. The DLC is the only reason I'm willing to return to this game.
Side Note: Did anybody else get some gamerscore stolen off them by Alan Wake? I have added up my totals and it shows 10G less than I have. If I compare games with a friend it shows the 710G but in the dashboard my totals pages have a difference of 10G. All of my achievements were earned while I was signed in to Xbox Live over 2 or 3 sittings. Alan Wake is a gamerscore thief!
Edit: Fleshlights at the ready... (I couldn't resist, sorry!) |

| Hey Cormac, same here. I now have 1180 in Alan Wake, while i only need 2 more Achievements, both worth 30 Gamerscore each, so 1180+60=1240 = i`m also missing 10 Gamerscore. When i look at my Gamerscore it`s 37.172 and when i compare games i see 37.162. WTF. I also know what Achievement messed it up, Carnby for shooting 5 Can Pyramids, thats the one that screwed me up. Remedy, make a update please! |

| If your code is invalid because you entered it early (like I did) you may have to wait until tomorrow to get your free replacement code. I say this because in the "Thank You" video that downloaded (instead of the DLC) when I input the code early, it states that the DLC will be available on July 28th (tomorrow) and that replacement codes will be sent out then. I am hopeful that they will send them out sometime today, but wouldn't be surprised if they didn't show up until tomorrow :( |
