Does anyone else have problems playing need for speed underground?
I have bought the disc and downloaded it off live and every time i start the game up, it sticks on the loading screen for ages. When it finally gets to the 'press start' screen, it wont let me press start.
Any ideas? |

do you have any dlc?
Try:
Deleting all DLC.
Starting the game with no HDD present.
Clearing the cache (with HDD present)
You may find that even when i disc is installed the disc will still spin up slightly, do you have a small crack on the inner ring of the disc? this will still effect you even if you install. |

I played it for a week straight with no loading issues whatsoever. I'd bet it's a DLC problem like mzivtins suggested.
Otherwise it might be your internet - have you downloaded the update for it? The xbox might be having a problem getting a stable connection to live to suggest that you download the update. |

| I downlaoded the game from the disc to my hard drive, works with no problems. Before, it used to. If you have enough space, try that. |

I feel you! This game froze or glitched out on me more times than I care to mention. It's also the last NFS I play until they prove they deserve my money again. Who thought of the spike strips? Terrible idea during the last few cop knockout missions. Flat tires, no way to restart mission, interrupting my music for a 4 second cut scene & the multiplayer lobbies are awful. No control over anything & if you want to change game modes you have to back out to career?
I had to delete, clear cache & re-download this game just to finish a race. I'd finish, I'd win, screen goes black? Maybe that's what Black Box studios means:)
Two more cheevos & I'm going to put my arcade racer funds towards dev's like Rockstar, Namco-Bandai, Bizarre Creations & the like. EA is sliding down the hill with every game they put out & I hope they fall soon so they can see why? They used to be the pinnacle of game dev's, now their putting out 30+ games a year & each one takes them further away from what we are looking for in a game. I will admit to always buying Tiger Woods PGA Tour but it's a stable for me each year going on 9 seasons now. |

This may not be the solution but I have been encountering this issue recently and I remember that I bought parts using MS points which were downloaded to my HDD.
I went and deleted them on the off chance that it would resolve the issue and it has.
Maybe people should try this. Obviously you will lose the cars/parts your bought but in exchange for a functioning game it worth spending in game cash instead. |
