'The greatest part of mankind float betwixt vice and virtue'
Capcom's TGS conference seems to be littered with great announcements, one of the most notable being the latest iteration of the Devil May Cry franchise, simply named DmC.

The game is being co-developed as a collaboration between Capcom and UK-based Ninja Theory (Heavenly Sword, ) and designed to reboot the series.
They've said that the game will retain the "Devil May Cry DNA" - stylish action, rewarding combat and a brash, smart-talking protagonist - but infused with dark, brutal gameplay, a psychological slant and a contemporary backdrop, as well as a younger Dante.

DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost. DmC will retain the series’ signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system as players encounter the game’s devilish mix of enemies and navigate the rich, interactive environment.
Rest assured, despite the use of the word "reboot," this won't ruin the franchise. With both developers working on the game together, it's looking to blend the best Western and Eastern influences, while remaining a definite classic DMC title. The whole project is being overseen by Hedeaki Itsuno, who has worked on all the other DMC games so far, and was the lead director of both DMC2 and Devil May Cry 4.
No release date was announced for the game. |

| I'm not sure I like the new look for Dante. Still, I've enjoyed every game in the series thus far (even the blacksheep 2nd installment to some extent) so my hopes are always high with the Devil May Cry franchise. |

| Which reminds me, I need to get back to DMC4..stopped playing it after I had to start playing as Dante.. he just isn't as much fun as playing with Nero imo. The psychological slant on this new game sounds interesting though, I'll definitely be checking it out. |

I wonder if the lead director ruins two DMC game's he win's the match ball. I just hope the combat is not handed majorly by Ninja Theory, as Heavenly Sword's was as intuitive and rich with nuances as a turd. |
Gamerscore is like mud wrestling, only completely different. . . |

| Never been a big fan of the older games but liked the look of this one. Might be worth checking out. Personally I rather want to see Capcom making RE6 then anything else. |

| Can't wait for this although Dante looks like he just stepped out of a Twilight movie. The classic Dante looks way cooler than that. |

| Why does Devil May Cry need to be darker and edgier? The fact that it didn't take itself so seriously was half of the appeal of the games. Seriously, what the hell is with the reboot of the series? Are they that hellbent on not exploring the Nero / Virgil angle or are they looking to just rehash the previous games from a more '90s point of view. urgh. |
Looking to Boost: Gears of War 1 & 2, Army of Two, Turok |
