THQ have released an announcement trailer for the upcoming game de Blob 2.
The original game de Blob was released on the Wii in 2008, and was recently released again for the Windows Phone 7, titled as de Blob Revolution (WP). de Blob 2 was announced by THQ @ E3 2010, but was based around the Nintendo Wii version of the game, until the recent confirmation of a release for Xbox 360 and PS3.
So for those who have never played de Blob, here are some details on what to expect from the upcoming sequel and its storyline:
In de Blob 2 Comrade Black and the Inkies are back with a whole new plot to rid the world of color. With all new help from Papa Blanc and his flock of followers the Blancs, Blob and his friends will have their work cut out for them bringing color back to the citizens of Prisma City. Set off on an action packed color adventure where custom paints, patterns and music bring the world to life. de Blob 2 is a creative evolution driven by your imagination!Here are some colourful screenshots:

So, as you can see we have a colourful and good looking mix of 2D and 3D platforming and puzzle madness, plus a good dose of fun! The release date seen at the end of the trailer (2/22/11) is for PS3, I'm afraid.
de Blob 2 has a release date of 23rd March 2011 for Xbox 360.

| de Blob, in my opinion, was one of the finest 3rd party games on the Wii (not a high standard, I know..) Glad to see this on other consoles, but it actually used the Wii Remote effectively. I wonder how it'll play without wand mechanics? |

| I watched the trailer a few times and i couldnt help but think about a mix of Splosion Man, The Maw and a hint of Super Meat Boy (Not yet played). |

Ooohhh, looking forward to this for sure. I've been wanting to play the Wii version but haven't been arsed to buy it. Now I don't really need to!

Oh, this is coming out for the 360 now? Nice!
I was always highly interested in the original, but by the time I had gotten higher priority games and the money, I could never find it in stores. Can't wait to give this one a try. |
