Got a turbo controller and have been going into strong arm matches in SR2 and letting them go by. Usually get the minimum but sometimes I luck out and my teammate(s) builds up the earnings even though I'm away.
Anyway, just feel free to join me if ya want free wardrobe cash. my GT is Kulkun. I won't be around to accept friend requests or anything but feel free to join me since I leave my party open for anyone else. Only time I won't be in a match is either when the host kills the game to disconnect me (happened once over the past couple of days) or my game freezes.
Anyway I'll be around for a while since I was an idiot and forgot about ninja day so I have to get the kingpin rank. I have all the other badges so I won't bother boosting those. This is just to get cash. And if ya do decide to join, feel free to prefer me. I'm sure my rep has taken quite a slamming with how many people probably got irritated at my away-ness. |

It's a bit inconsiderate to the others playing.
I don't mind boosting but not when it impacts so heavily on the other people trying to play the game.
You should just play it, I got Kingpin legit and love the game... |

I agree with LAFTA it's pretty inconsiderate, when I was going for Kingpin it sucked when you meet people like that :/
It's a really fun game online too! |

The only people still playing this online are leaderboarders, glitchers, and people boosting Kingpin. Surprisingly, a large number of them have given me positive feedback for idling. It actually helps them to increase their kills, wins, and earnings totals faster. And you see the pistol/rocket launcher thing all the time. Literally, every match I've been in "legitimately" with a Kingpin or King of Kingpins, it happened, repeatedly. I'm just glad you can't team kill in SR2 like you could in SR1. SR1 MP was even worse! And, yes, I agree whole-heartedly that the Saints Row franchise is awesome. At least, the single player and co-op are awesome. The multiplayer sucks ass. Volition recognized it. Probably why SR3 has no MP, to speak of. It is quite lame that so many developers (maybe it's the publishers...) feel compelled to shoehorn in some half-assed, mediocre-at-best multiplayer component, just so they can say, "see, we've got MP, too." Why do people think that everything has to have multiplayer? I say, unless the MP is good, and on reliable servers that aren't in danger of being shutdown, and has level-based matchmaking of some sort, thereby making it fun, there's no point in having it. Online and ranked achievements are bullshit, anyway. They're like forcing someone to watch the credits to pop an achievement, except you're talking about hours and hours of stupidity and dealing with assholes, instead of a couple of minutes.

I enjoy the multiplayer when I am playing with my buddies, but I can't imagine another 40+ sessions to get this achievement. Personally, I like the "auto runners"; free kills and more points for me when I am playing random matches. When I am boosting with a group, then I don't like them cause they split our winnings. Guess that makes me a hypocrite, but honestly, who isn't!
I have been considering buying a controller and doing this myself. Can anybody give me an idea of how many points they are getting per round, hour whatever? |

Original Dr T said:...Can anybody give me an idea of how many points they are getting per round, hour whatever? When I was idle boosting, it varied somewhat from night to night. Some nights, I made 20-40K. Some nights, I made over 100K. Took me around 2 weeks, give or take. The Kingpin solution page has a breakdown of earnings percentages by rank, plus alot of other useful stuff. You've probably been to the page already, at this point, but just in case... A S0T said:get a street fighter turbo go to sleep and read the hate mail lol with THQ dead can you even play that?Indeed, it can still be played. Having fun doing it is a whole different conversation. I got far more positive feedback than negative while idle boosting. And, I prefer the Hori. |

I left this running 2 nights now, on Strong Arm, and whilst it started off okay (getting into matches regular), I noticed that for both mornings I was stuck in a match with other idle players. In strong arm, if you get to zero on the timer and scores are tied, the match never ends. In both cases I ran over to the other team and took a kill to end the match.
I don't really know the cash output for different game modes, but may start trying the team deathmatch mode (as this seemed very heavily populated when I left it running for an hour).
What game modes did other people try, and did they get into the same problem? |
U mad bro? |

| I have found plenty of people idle boosting so far, and from what I can see the Team Gangsta Brawl seems more heavily populated (and these all seem legit players). The cash output from both game modes seem the same (the reason for the initial slow start was based on the cash cap being so much higher at lower ranks). I'm up to rank 4 of 10 now, and that is only 3 nights. |
