Come down to sunny ol' Tajikistan

Corporal Ryan Balletto is an Auto Rifleman in Fireteam Bravo. Just yesterday he shot five of those "half-baked insurgents" to pieces with his M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW). It is "perfect for suppressing enemy positions" and "has a little bit of a sting to it". He's "just here to follow orders"; he's going to do what he's told - "no back-talk, no drama this time." Balletto is part of the USMC fireteam unit, alongside other specialist members, such as the Scout, Rifleman and Grenadier, in tactical shooter Operation Flashpoint: Red River.

You learn more about Cpl. Balletto in this second biography video from Codemasters; the first video introduced you to Staff Sergeant Damien Knox, Platoon Sergeant for Fireteam Bravo. Be warned though, some of the language is not safe for work.

With footage showing the epic landscapes players will experience and battle through in Operation Flashpoint: Red River, Marines are shown protecting convoys, attacking dug-in insurgents and setting up ambushes against the backdrop of Tajikistan's beautiful countryside and spectacular mountain ranges.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thM3o41iDsI

Codemasters has now confirmed that Operation Flashpoint: Red River is due to be released on April 21st, 2011 in Europe, and on April 26th in North America.

This could be pretty cool as a strong 4 player coop based game w/ a lot of replay value. Hopefully the AI changes tactics each round and its not static and predictable, too much

Sounds like you prefer halo type realistic games.

Can't wait for this, the last one was a heap of fun.

i liked the realism of it.and yes granted it's not as real as previous pc releases.but for a console release it the most realistic shooter out there.i liked how me and 3 buddies could team up.

@A Diabetic Sloth
that's realistic warfare for you.lots of troop movement,followed by quick exchanges of gunfire.most modern battles only last a few minutes.it's rare they last longer.

Aus-tral-ia? Never heard of it!

No, but seriously, the press release sent out by the game's developer made no mention of the Australian release date.

chances are it'll be close to europe's release date.worse case scenario,a week after europe's.
