| I'm excited, especially with Rebellion at the helm; they seem like they're not gonna let it go to crap. The screens and vids I've seen look amazing! |

| I'm kind of having faith here! It really seems like Rebellion is taking it seriously and taking their time. I read about this in OXM a month or two ago and the screens look amazing, their ideas sound great (using the movies as cornerstones), and gameplay footage I saw did look good. But here's to hoping! |

New trailer!

This one showcases the Marines. The gameplay looks REALLY GOOD (I never want to be pinned by an Alien ever in my life), the graphics look great, the atmosphere looks crazy creepy and scary. As an Alien nerd though, the color-palette has too many oranges and reds instead of the steel greys, dark green-blacks of the films. But in the middle of fighting hordes of xenomorphs, the color's gonna be the last thing I worry about in the end! |

| So basically you're saying you don't like the fact that this game doesn't fit in with the 360's default overused boring FPS color palette. |

Could be cool, but nothing I'm excited about. Probably buy it once it gets cheap :p
I remember playing the PC AvP back in my early high school years, was addicted to the multiplayer, especially using Predator and cutting people in half with the flying disc lol. |

For anyone waiting for this game, Sega's website has posted on it's profile page a release month of February 2010, instead of their previously stated "early 2010." http://xbox.joystiq.com wrote that Sega replied that they're still looking at an early 2010 release despite what the webpage specifies. Just a tidbit o' news!

Anyone who played the PC title of the same name back in the late 90's should be excited about this...they did a very good job on the atmospheric single player campaign, at the time I remember it was criticised by many as being 'too hard' as you could not save mid level, but I took that as a challenge and beat it on the hardest difficulty. It only had 15 levels, I seem to remember (5 for each species), but it kept me busy for weeks. As for the multiplayer possibilities, it could be amazing, we'll have to wait and see what they come up with. I for one am looking forward to dropping from the ceiling onto unsuspecting victims. As for the achievements, as with most games it could go either way. Surely that's not the only reason to buy a game, otherwise everyone on the site would be avidly waiting for Avatar 2:The Gamerscore Cash-in! |

A little uh-oh here ...
Joystiq wrote up their "impressions" after getting to play a little bit of the game's single player scenarios, namely the Marines and the Predator. While liking some of the gameplay elements and the potential of multiplayer, they rated their experience as "uninspiring." That's not what I was hoping for from Rebellion. Release date is still a handful of months away, so I hope Joystiq talked to Rebellion and they took notes. I'm hoping for a good (enough, for having 3 campaigns) story, varying scripted events (that you can affect; agreeing with Joystiq), tense moments, and a replayable mulitplayer (Ghostbusters was all right until I ranked up fully after only a week of playing.).

Latest news from IGN on AvP from GC 2009:
The Alien campaign and a couple of tidbits about multiplayer!
While I was hoping for a video, IGN Xbox was able to experience the campaign I've been looking forward to the most, the Aliens, and wrote their impressions. While Joystiq felt the game so far was "uninspiring" (see above post), IGN shares a lot of promise with the feel of the Alien campaign. I remember the feeling of being an Alien in Rebellion's first outing and it stinkin' rocked my world. This will probably be the campaign I begin first because you just gotta love the Aliens!
IGN also noted Rebellion's penchant for gore in this title, as well as some notes about mulitplayer.

I guess I've become the unofficial AvP news guy or something. I'm just really excited about this game, so ... sue me!
G4 had a similar presentation at GC, but very worthy of note is a "Marines vs. Aliens" mode (not sure if that's the ACTUAL name of it) which follows the popular trend of Horde-Nazi Zombies-Firefight modes! Talk about intense! One of the best parts of "Aliens" was the sequence when the aliens came into the room through the ceiling! I'm expecting suspense, intense music, and a whole lotta shouting! "They're coming out of the walls, let's book!"

| I hope there's a taunt button. It was great as the Alien walking up to windows and hissing at the people on the other side so they freak out. But they appear to have dropped the proper movie sound effects for the Predator's vision change. If they dumped that, what chance is there for "want some candy/turn around/anytime"? |
