I have friends that couldnt get in to Oblivion because of the dated graphics & stuff.
It is an immersive game but... IMO Skyrim wins. : PTrue, some people might think I'm crazy. Skyrim was an amazing game, but the world was just so dark and felt the same everywhere I went. The quests didn't feel as memorable as Oblivion to me. It had a lot more color to it, in terms of characters and the world itself.
Sucks that some people can't get into games because of graphics, though. You'd think by now people can't get into games that hype themselves up through their graphics and end up having 2 hour campaigns and play like shit.Yeh sure, its def true that graphics don't (or shouldn't) make a game, and I agree that Oblivion is nice & colourful.
In Skyrim however, many times I would stand still just to take-in the breathtaking views & landscape. That sort of thing can make a game memorable as much as the story & gameplay.
I also thought the combat mechanics were just overall more interesting & fun than Oblivions' sword swinging / fireballs. lol
