There is no mention of backward compatibility being added to LEGO Batman (JP) in this news item.So far every backwards compatible game that has stacks work except for Lego Batman.I was about to say the same. According to this
XBA article, you can play
Borderlands (JP) ,
Gears of War 2 (JP) ,
Just Cause 2 (JP) ,
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (DE) , and
Wolfenstein 3D on a standard Xbox One. (Though in the case of Wolfenstein 3D, US Xbox 360 now plays that also.) There may have been other games since that article.
HolyHa1fDead is right that we haven't been promised
LEGO Batman (JP) . But after the other games automatically worked, I was really hoping it would too. Hopefully it will just start working soon.
According to a comment on
today's XBA article about the new BC games, "Someone on the forums mentioned that the JP version doesn't play on NTSC-J Xbox 360 Slim consoles. I don't see why that would affect how it plays on Xbox One though. Every other stackable variant has worked fine as far as I know, so hopefully the switch just hasn't gone fully live on that one." I suppose it could be that the Xbox One is emulating a Slim console and that's causing LEGO Batman JP not to work.
I PM'ed someone who successfully installed Borderlands JP. He said that he didn't have to do anything special. He didn't have to change his region. But I'll try that when I get a chance.
