A Lucid Thought #4 – TA’s Voting System and Other Things
I really can’t stand the rating system here on True Achievements, and this has nothing to do with anyone here on TA crew. The idea of the thumbs up/down on all of the solutions and reviews seems simple enough, but you have morons who will screw it up. The second someone posts one of their solutions they get all of their friends to vote down everyone else. I’ve seen others whine that their solution should have more thumbs up in the comment section and soon after that everyone will have 4 or 5 thumbs down.
I really think they should just get rid of the thumbs down. If people like the solution they can vote it up and if they don’t it stays where it is. This would stop all these little children from thumbing down everything! Oh well, I’m down complaining.
I’ve been playing Dragon’s Dogma for the past few days and I have to say I’m impressed with it. It’s not going to be my game of the year, but I really thought this was going to bomb. It has turned out to be a descent RPG with a few errors that the developers really should have thought about fixing, but that happens. I want to hurry up and beat it because I should be receiving Inversion in the mail any day now. Namco Bandi was nice enough to send me a free copy : )
Now I'm off to talk to my webmaster about changing some things with vgmmdi.com! We are also looking for some news writers, so message me if you are interested. I hope everyone has an awesome week!

A Lucid Thought #3 – Dealing With Gaming Publishers
I hate dealing with gaming publishers. When we had someone over across the pond on our team it was easy for him to get video games early and for free. I think it is mainly because they don’t have to worry about companies like IGN or G4. I always get put onto a list, but half the time I never hear from them again until I’m put on the next list again.
Sometimes we do get some games. I’m kicking myself in the ass because I forgot about the SEGA Vintage Collection games. We got
Golden Axe and
Streets Of Rage early, but only by one day because I’m forgetful and sent an email out at the last minute. We also got
Mad Riders early as well from Ubisoft and they all asked for us to review them. We are crossing our fingers hoping that they will post them on their Facebook or website. Here is my video review below:
Back to IGN now and why I hate them. I found out that many publishers have deals with IGN to only allow certain review copies to be sent out and they always have the top pick. It irritates me because I find IGN reviews to be horrible. I’m not the best reviewer, but theirs are just plain boring and full of crap. Every damn COD game gets a 10 and unique games will only receive a 4 or 5. A 10 should be given to a game that doesn’t have a single fault in it at all, and that is hard to come by.
Hopefully when I get off of work tomorrow I'll actually be able to play some Dragon's Dogma that has been staring at me for the past two days. My clock tells me it is 12:25 AM...I dread waking up in six hours to a job I'm already not liking

Anyways, I hope you all have a good night and check out the Streets Of Rage review I just put up in TA as well.

A Lucid Thought #2 - Disappointments
If there is one thing I hate about having your own gaming channel it would have to be when you can't finish a game. We had the opportunity to be a part of the closed beta for the Secret World a few weeks ago. The view count continues to rise more and more with a very small playthrough I did with the beginning of the Illuminati. The video below is the start of it:
We can’t spend our time going through an MMO because they never really end. They are frequently being updated and we can’t just focus on one game since there is something that comes out every week. I’ve been asked to continue on, but I had to sadly turn people down. Instead, I’ll be grabbing Dragon’s Dogma tomorrow to do a couple of quick videos and a review of it. I know it would seem I’m a little late on doing this, but like I said, time is something that is not available to us. I’ve heard many bad things about this game all around, but I like to keep my mind open for games as much as I can.

I recently finished my damn UNIX assignments for the week, and trust me when I say you never want to touch this unless you really have to. However, I found it really funny that while I sat there typing in command lines that all I could think about was how fast I could complete Dragon’s Dogma. This gave me the idea to write an article on achievements altogether. Have they ruined the fun of games or do they increase the enjoyment giving us more satisfaction.
I know this is a short blog post and I’m hoping they will grow more as I continue to do them. As I take my leave I’ll post a video of a song I’ve been listening to for the past week or so. I know it won’t be for everyone, but it has really calmed my nerves down since I haven’t been getting much sleep and I always seem to have a massive headache. Good night all!

A Lucid Thought #1 – The Beginning
I've noticed more and more on True Achievements that people are writing these awesome blogs, so I thought, “Why not me!” Anyways, finding something to write about can be a pain in the ass, so I decided to involve it around my experiences with the group I’m with, Video Games Made Me Do It, while being a family man and a gaming addict.
I could do this on our website vgmmdi.com, but at the moment it would be an annoyance to set up and that is something I don’t really want to put the webmaster through since he has enough on his plate with us. I enjoy the layout of True Achievements and I think this will satisfy my blogging needs.
The past two weeks I’ve played almost nothing but crap when it came to games.
Battleship and
MIB: Alien Crisis are games I would have never touched a year ago. Now with VGMMDI I can’t think about what would entertain me, but what video guides and reviews others would like to see.
However, Diablo 3 has been a blast! While I wasn’t sure how much I would love this after I beat the game on normal I am hooked. I’m hoping to write a review for it once I tinker with it some more, but I’m sure it will be a 9/10. Unlike the games I have mentioned above that could barely break a five.
If you want to follow me or ask any questions at all feel free at any time. This is an open blog and I’m always happy to talk to people.
P.S. I suck with my grammar…I’m sorry
