"Brasky got his wife pregnant, and she gave birth to a delicious sixteen ounce steak. The afterbirth was sautéed mushrooms" -
The memoirs of Bill Brasky“Didn’t we have some fun though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said ‘Goodbye’ and you were like ‘NO WAY!’ and then I was all ‘We pretended we were going to murder you’? That was great." -
GLaDOSBefore I shall delve into the mind of...well...my mind, which I may say is a slippery slope of casms, dark voids, and dry Sahara Desert humour. I must add a disclaimer, the reason, because it is with the utmost of charasmatic respect that I do so in order to differentiate my opinions from those who I care for. Duly noted.
DISCLAIMERThese views and opinions are my own, aren't anyone elses or is it reflective on any other party to TA, it's members, or the companies it represents. Also, I want to note that in no way is this interview reflective of a psychological defect represented by the writer (SgtDigglesworth). I do not have multiple personalties, however I am interviewing myself and I believe that I am totally aware of it...atleast I hope in part that I believe this is a ficticious interview and not me actually having a third person conversation with myself, although I am a pretty fun guy to talk to.
When we last spoke with SgtDigglesworth he explained his upcoming hand surgery, and showed us his Xbox and some wrestling figurines. Recetly, we were able to catch up with him after an exciting trip to the country.
So how are things Diggs?Groovy. Aside from the fact I left my wallet somewhere in the country. Other than that I had an amazing time at a pig roast/picnic. I didn't eat the pig though.
Awesome. So what did you get up to out there?Well, I sat at a bonfire the first night and relaxed with some family and friends. Then I caught a fish. Would you care to see it?
SureI named it Tanya the Trout, it was glorious. We had a blast together.
Umm, Diggs, that fish isn't real.Of course it is. What makes you say that it isn't? I have proof. Look at the pictures.
Thats a fish alright. But it's a stuffed body pillow of a fish. One word okay. IMAGINATION!!! Stop trying to rain on my parade. Tanya has an amazing personality.
So Diggs, I'm gong to change the subject.Oh Tanya! Fine, ask away.
I recently heard through the grapevine that you were disgruntled with some industry press releases?Truth be told, I am sure that I am not the only one. However, it is true. Sometimes when you are perusing through press releases from the PR departments of gaming companies, the information provided is suspect and well, wrong or incredibly vague. For example, I was researching an article for a game
Ninja Exorcist, and I had the entire announcement ready to go, only to find that it was something that was not part of the coverage.
How do you mean?Well, certain teams cover certain releases. This was one of those times that after inputting 24 screenshots and writing a very detailed announcement that it can to be another teams story. So I had to Hong Kong fooey that straight out the door. Here are some of the screenshots that I had to upload to photobucket, than copy each image link in order to plop them into the story.
[
So is this something that happens a lot?No not really. However, it makes you wonder who writes these PR's up? It wasn't until I saw the video that stated at the end it was an Indie Game and not XBLA. No where in the PR was there anything regarding the medium it was to be released, except that they were excited to announce it and they gave a ton of details regarding the game, but they missed the most important detail. Is it Indie, XBLA, or retail? On another note, press releases sometimes claim they are the first to do something when in fact five other games that year have done the same thing. Also, they have a tendency to upload 1001 screenshots and five of those are new. There was an instance when I had to grab an unwatermarked image, only to realise it was 30mb and the size of a small boat. Luckily a good semaritan of the TA news team worked some magic and got the image.
What do you mean?Okay, when a press release is written it should basically state what it is pertaining to. A new trailer, fact sheet, DLC, announcements etc. However, you get some departments that state they are creating something 'brand new' for the industry but it's really just a new game from another studio based on the mechanics of previous games. As I mentioned PR's can be vague, false, or contain duplicate information. Don't even get me started on the spelling errors and so forth. I mean, I make some grammatical and spelling errors, but if I notice them, something is wrong.
Do you ever get incredibly frustrated at certain press releases?Sometimes, I mean I am a pretty laid back guy. However, I did create a preliminary fight card for any PR department willing to take me up on the challenge. Such as duplicate press releases promoting something they already promoted, lacking proper information or generating false information in hopes to profit from a saturated genre for example.
Did you send that to anyone? No, the chicken of depression told me not to.
What? The Chicken of Depression, nevermind its all in the imagination brother. I did however get a response regarding how sorry one PR department was.
Is that..blood?.............
Anyway, how about we turn to something else?Alright, but I have a date in the Mojave Wasteland, so can we speed this up?
Sure. What are you currently working on regarding video games? The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings I am loving this game. I have done one playthrough and I am planning on choosing the other path on my next play through.
BioShock 2 I only played about half of it the first time around, and I am planning on running through it again. I loved the first
BioShock and was impartial to the second one.
Saints Row: The Third I have not started it yet, its been sitting in my binder of games for sometime now, and I am hoping to get to it at some point. However, I just reached 45% completion and I know if I put it in it will drop to 44% and I am really trying to hit 50%, but thats roughly 300 achievements away.
Fallout: New Vegas I could beat this at anytime, but I just can't get back into it. I am really trying however, I feel I have lost touch with it.
Medal of Honor Once again I really enjoyed this game and the SP campaign, however, I take stabs at it randomly on the verge of just beating it, yet it just doesn't hold my attention span for that long. I really want to get the MP achievements, but I just can't be bothered with the effort at this point.
Well, I guess that concludes the interview. Anything else you would like to add? I just wanted to say I am hoping to find the card game
