Wise Words I'd like to Share with you
A good friend of mine wrote a note on Facebook, and I'd just like to post it here, because it's pretty damn good.
Here it goes:
My bloodline consists of Irish drunks with no education and Scottish fuckups with no regard for the law. My daddy's locked up for a century, my uncle's in Mexico, my grandparents are retired drunkards, shit like that. Don't get me wrong, some of us were chillin' by the pool havin' lots of small talk and hugs just a few weeks ago, but it is what it is.
I was born on the dark side, but I was lucky enough to be raised by my mother who taught me to carry the light in my pocket wherever I go. I feel blessed despite the drawbacks of my family, I'm in the perfect position to become a wise man, and that's just what the fuck I plan to be. I love my family, I've learned to understand evil and appreciate good, it all comes from love, it's all you really need.
The grey area is too big to try and be black or white, sometimes you have to do bad things for the right reasons. And sometimes doing what's "right" wouldn't be what's really right. Respect everyone's rules but don't obligate yourself to following them, let your heart take you where it needs to go even when everything around you says otherwise.
Struck a chord with me somewhere because it's all true

Being Thankful
I've wanted to write this blog for a long time (probably a couple of weeks) but I just haven't gotten around to it. Here it goes.
Going through life I've done and seen many things. I've seen people that have had it better than me (much better), and other that have had it worse (much worse), so I consider myself middle of the road.
I'm happy with that.
Since I've graduated from high school in 2010 my life has been a fog at times. I sometimes don't know what to do anymore, not exactly a depressive state (at times it may seems like it though....)
I stopped going to college last May. I don't know if that was the right decision sometimes, but I didn't have a sense of direction so I felt it was in my (and others) best interest to stop, finance wise, and for my own good. I've been trying to find a job since then, and no such luck.
During this entire year I've had time to reflect and see what I really need to do. I'm considering going back this fall, but that's a decision yet to be made completely. I've realized what I have. I have a great home (and church) family that has supported me and seen me through this past year. I didn't realize so many people had me in their prayers every day for me to get a job. Even though I still don't have one I have faith that somewhere down the road life will turn around for the better. I'm very lucky that I was never kicked out of the house soon after I graduated, because I have no idea where I would be right now. I'm very thankful that I get games from time to time. I understand I will never get every big title that comes out, (I have high hopes sometimes) but realistically at this point it's not happening. That's why you see me playing some of the same titles over and over again. I just know, as long as I have a roof over my head, food, my xbox, and people that care and love me, I'll be fine.
Just remember, don't fret when things don't go your way. There's always somebody that has it worse than you. Take time to enjoy life when you can, make every day great, and be thankful for what you have.
