Oof, it's been a long weekend. I spent a lot of time on the road, but now it's finally done and I'm back at my apartment and just...way too tired to play games.
This weekend wasn't a total loss though. I started up
Doodle God (WP) on the drive on Friday and got the full 200G by the end of the night. Pretty fun game, though I did have to resort to a guide toward the end, as some of the element reactions get to be less than intuitive and more about blind luck or systematically combining things until you get a match. For 99 cents, though, you can't go wrong.
I also started up
Shuffle Party (WP) on Saturday. It's pretty meh, but it's free. Most of the achievements are pretty easy. There's just a couple of tougher ones.
The first of those two is just grindy. The second, however, is gonna be a bitch, as the game registers the slides as either "feather touch" or "bat out of hell." There's no real middle ground, or at least it's really tough to get a decent speed that you need to get the pucks in the right spot. Messing with the in-game calibration doesn't seem to do a damn thing either. I may play around with it a bit more, but it looks like it'll be a pain in the ass and I don't understand the low ratio.
Anyway, I'm worn out from this past weekend (or really, the week as a whole) so instead of playing games, I'm just chilling out and watching Glee on Netflix.
Speaking of Glee, I just have one achievement left in
Karaoke Revolution: Glee Volume 3 that I plan to work on this week.
I'm around 3,000 right now, and the number of dancers you get per song is equal to the number of perfect phrases you get, so it's a bit of a grind. Thankfully, I thoroughly enjoy playing the game, so it won't be so bad. I'll probably download most of the DLC to make it slightly less repetitive, as there's only 40 on-disc songs and the highest number of phrases in a song is Friday with 77.
What else is on the agenda this week? Well, I probably oughta pop in
Just Cause 2 at some point so I can go for my random achievement. Other than that, I have a pretty full week ahead of me. Monday night I've got the premiere of our short film from the Houston 48 Hour Film Project. Tuesday I have auditions for Summer Rep. Sunday I'll be going to see a musical down in Houston. It's called "Next to Normal," and though I've never seen it before, the soundtrack is one of my favorites. I know one of the guys in it from school, and the assistant stage manager is one of my friends and the president of our APO chapter, which I'm secretary for, so that's cool.
Game-wise? Besides finishing
Karaoke Revolution: Glee Volume 3 off, I plan to finally start
Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Encore and hopefully get a huge chunk of it done. It shouldn't be too hard, but it'll be a bit of a grind. Even more than the second one was. I mean, just look at this achievement:
When you consider that a perfect score in a song is only 100,000, yeah. The 25 mil achievement in the second game was a hell of a grid. This is twice as long. But now I have a turbo controller to make it a bit more bearable.
Did I say turbo controller? I meant fight stick with turbo functionality. Yeah, I broke down and bought a fight stick about a week ago in the hopes that it might make increasing my completion percentage in
Street Fighter IV and
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe a bit easier. So I'll probably pop those games in for a bit this week.
What else...oh yeah. In an effort to keep toward the top of the Music & Rhythm genre leaderboards, I picked up a copy of
Disney Sing It: High School Musical 3 for $4. I'm going to attempt to get the 1000G in this game without trying to strangle myself with the microphone cord. Wish me luck.
I may also grind out a few more
DJ Hero 2 achievements that I've been putting off. Not any of the really hard ones that I have no chance at getting or the XBL stuff. Mainly just things that can be done with two turntables or the vox stuff.
Finally, I'm in a session on Saturday to get this:
I've been slowly working on the XBL achievements for this game, since it's an EA game that's been out for over 2 years, so who knows when they'll decide to pull the plug. I've only got 3 left, so I'm hoping to get them done before the summer's out.
So, that's the plan for this week. Will I stick to it? Probably not. But it's a goal at least.
Anyway, back to watching Glee. You know the best thing about rewatching season one on Netflix? No 4-month hiatus this time around.
I need a catchphrase!
