Some really nice quick progress for a change!

Loaded up FIFA 09 for the first time since January, and loaded my Manager Mode game as my beloved Accrington Stanley. First fixture was a FA Cup round 1 match against Shrewsbury. As I was trying for the achievement, I wasn't playing my best (honest), but I grinded out a 2-1 win.

Next came Aldershot in the league, and on the 37th minute, John Mullin puts a beautiful through ball to Bobby Grant, who has only the keeper to beat....the ball sails past the keeper, I hear a nice clunk, followed by this popping up on the screen:

FIFA 09 In off The In off achievement in FIFA 09 worth 22 pointsScore off the woodwork in a match

clapclapclap

And it remained 1-0 until full time. Happy days! So now, the focus once again shifts onto a different game, and this is achievement #4 on the list:

Saints Row Colombian Made The Colombian Made achievement in Saints Row worth 60 pointsTake over Los Carnales territory.

I really enjoy playing Saints Row, but for some reason I haven't played nearly enough as I should have done. Los Carnales, prepare to die in many ways that shall satisfy my humour. Might even run over a pensioner or two, cause you know, it's OK in the row.

Quickish Gears 3 update as well, whilst playing a bit of Campaign I unlocked this achievement:

Gears of War 3 My Fellow Gears The My Fellow Gears achievement in Gears of War 3 worth 77 pointsComplete all Campaign Acts in Co-op (any difficulty, Standard or Arcade).

All 31 chapters, on a mixture of Normal and Hardcore difficulty, done by myself and a plugged in second controller because I don't have any mates. FOREVER ALONE.

In addition to the achievement, I racked up two new medals as well:

Squad Leader - Silver
Big Money - Silver

I really enjoy Horde 2.0. But getting all those waves cleared is gonna be a bit of a pain in the arse.

Rounding of this session, England were once again(!) knocked out on penalties in a major tournament. We really need to break this hoodoo, preferably by learning how to beat a decent team within 90 minutes. One day, I'll be an old man with heart problems, and I could barely stand this now! I've always said football would be the death of me....(combined with alcohol and cigarettes)

Until next time, enjoy your gaming toast

FINALLY!

After a couple of weeks going through the mind-numbing boredom that is Assassin's Creed (it is a really good game, but so damn repetitive), I have now killed all 60 Templars, thus earning achievement #2 on the list:

Assassin's Creed Personal Vendetta Psycho Joe 1 The Personal Vendetta achievement in Assassin's Creed worth 96 pointsKill every Templar.

Now I can turn my back on the game, and in the spirit of the Euros, focus on FIFA 09 for a short while, aiming for this simple-looking cheevo:

FIFA 09 In off The In off achievement in FIFA 09 worth 22 pointsScore off the woodwork in a match

Simple-looking, however, I always play as Accrington Stanley on FIFA, so every shot I do either ends up in the back of the net having gone straight through the keeper or off target by a mile!

There's no progress to report since my last blog post with regards to Seriously 3.0, gotten closer to a few more medals, but that's about it.

Gonna sign off this edition with a huge rallying cry for the Three Lions tonight, Italy are a beatable side! However, they'll be thinking the same about us, my prediction though is a 2-1 win for England, with Danny Welbeck scoring first. I'm no score-predicting octopus, but this would make a decent bet!

Until next time, enjoy your gaming toast

Well, at least progress has been made this week, minor as it may be laugh

We'll kick off this edition with a Templar update. Currently, I've just killed the 43rd Templar, leaving just 17 to go! If I stick to the timeplan I've made myself, this will pop the day after tomorrow. Which is Saturday, not the god awful film I fell asleep in the cinema watching. Can't wait to see the back of these bastards and move on to some FIFA!

This now brings me on to the Seriously 3.0 project. Firstly, I unlocked one more achievement in Gears 3 this week, which was the measly

Gears of War 3 Secret Achievement The Secret Achievement achievement in Gears of War 3 worth 7 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement.

One week, one achievement, 5GS and a whopping 7TA. I'm on a roll! wink
In addition to the achievement though, I got a few new medals, these were:

Retro Lancer - Silver
Rifleman - Silver
Ready For The Heavies - Silver

I'm on course for a few more soon as well, it's good to see them coming in a bit more steadily now. Hopefully won't be too soon before a second Onyx medal!

A quick mention here for Euro 2012, I'm absolutely gutted to see Ireland leave without a point. However, the first half an hour against Italy aside, they deserved nothing. I was expecting a bit more resilience from Trappatoni's men, but there's always Brazil 2014!

However, I am delighted to see England win their group and book a quarter-final showdown with Italy. Expect no gaming Sunday evening, just beers and the footy!

I'm sure there'll be a celebratory blog up at the weekend, hopefully celebrating both the fact I don't have to chase down any more bastard Templars and that England have got to a semi-final! Until then, enjoy your gaming toast

I'm gonna kick off this entry by saying I got hardly any game time in this week facepalm

BUT! There are valid (?) reasons why! As to which I shall divulge!

Tuesday marked my 21st birthday. I didn't really do anything special for it, because what can you do on a Tuesday night? I went and played poker, then went to a club for a little bit with a couple of mates. Have you ever tried goldschlager? It's a spirit which tastes like cinnamon, and has little gold flakes in that ever-so-slightly cut the back of your throat so the alcohol gets in better. It's some proper strong shit. My mates got me 5 and told me I had to do them instantly. That, along with countless bottles of Heineken, left me with an almighty hangover that meant no play Wednesday.

Also, I've been devoting a lot of time to watching the EURO championships. I'm gutted for Ireland having been knocked out, but hopefully England can salvage something! Right?....roll

Onto the gaming, I've unlocked two more achievements in Gears 3 this week:

Gears of War 3 Award Winning Tactics The Award Winning Tactics achievement in Gears of War 3 worth 37 pointsEarn at least one Onyx medal.

Gears of War 3 Pack Rat The Pack Rat achievement in Gears of War 3 worth 14 pointsRecover 20 Campaign Collectibles (any difficulty, Standard or Arcade).

The first Onyx medal! It was the 'kill 1,100 humans in Beast mode'. I cannot stand Beast mode, it feels like such a wasted opportunity cry

I'm still working towards the 'Kill every Templar' achievement like the To-Do list told me to, but I'm only a third of the way there. 20 down, and 40 to go.

I will have a bit more time for that this week, but not tonight. Tonight, is the official birthday night out! I got a new suit that needs a test run, so what better way than with friends, beer, and England vs Sweden?!?

So I will sign off for now. Enjoy your gaming! toast

So finally, after much bitching and complaining I once swore I'd never do, the first achievement on the list has been crossed off clap

Texas Hold'em Card Shark Psycho Joe 1 The Card Shark achievement in Texas Hold'em worth 49 pointsPlay 1,000 hands.

In typical fashion, my bankroll was going nowhere until I finally won a regional tournament (in game), which left me on 965 hands played. Just grinded a few more free-play hands to get me up to the metaphorical dragon I've been chasing.

Sadly, it gets no better for me next. Those that have read my blog since post one knows that now, I gotta hunt me some Templars in Assassin's Creed to unlock this:

Assassin's Creed Personal Vendetta The Personal Vendetta achievement in Assassin's Creed worth 96 pointsKill every Templar.

This already has a bad history of being glitched, but hopefully Crimson Drifter's excellent guide will help me clear them all out over the next week or so.

Seriously 3.0

Some more progress to report in the form of medals, notably:

Gold Horde Fortifications
Gold MVP
Bronze Veteran
Bronze TDM

Right now I'm working on Campaign collectibles, Arcade campaign, Warzone with Retro Lancer kills, Horde and Beast.

E3

To round this edition off, I thought I'd share my thoughts on E3 (short and sweet).

As soon as Judgment was announced, I was hooked. But there were so many quality titles announced/more details revealed that I will be checking out upon release. However, as much as I'll look forward to Resident Evil 6 and Judgment, there's no doubt in my mind that the game I'm really looking forward to most is Borderlands 2.

I'll be back with more progress some time soon. In the meantime, enjoy your gaming! headspin
