Okay, so if you read my blog title and realized it was a line from the movie Beerfest, congratulations! It appears you like silly movies like I do!
Anyway, It seems I'm at a bit of a crossroads at the moment. If you've read previous blogs from me you are aware that I was doing this little project called "The Chopping Block". Basically I had come up with the oh-so clever title because it seemed a good tie-in to my gaming and my career (as a chef if you were completely unaware of my gamertag) and it was supposed to be a project I created to work on games I had on my tag that were low on percentage. I would work on these games until I got to a completion I was happy with although I wasn't worried about the full completion, just something I was comfortable with. After completing them, I would "chop" them my collection in order to make room for more games. I also wasn't going to start any new games until I had the majority of games on my tag at an acceptable percentage.
At the time it seemed a great idea because I would work on getting my low percentage games up and I would clear room on my gaming shelf for other games (You can see my old shelf in a few pictures on the blog before this one). It was a genius idea....it seemed....
....what I never considered was that although I was working on games I already owned or could borrow from friends, I was still buying new games and shelving them until I was done with the Chopping Block...this was not such a good idea...
....Now it seems I have 120 games in my collection and after a census of them it seems I have 77 unplayed (new and used). So my idea of going through games in order to make room for more has severly backfired. Sigh.
Add to that the fact that a little while back I bought a much newer and nicer shelf for my games so that I could display them better and maybe have more room for games...room that I actually filled up a couple days ago....puts me even more into a one step forward, two steps back situation!
Heres a shot of my new shelf....
Now I did get my wife to agree to me being able to get another shelf, but only one more, but I wasn't expecting to A) buy the shelf a month after the first one or B) need a new shelf for at least 6 more months....it seems my addiction is even worse than I expected....
....I don't even have a place to put the next shelf right now at any rate!
With the upcoming releases of games I have already preordered Darksiders 2 CE (with the Mask), Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot Chest Edition and Assassins Creed 3 (which I'm going to upgrade to CE). Add to that the CE I want for Aliens Colonial Marines and at least 10 other games I saw from E3 I want (before you ask..no, I'm not wealthy. My wife and I live in an apartment, but we both have good paying jobs and no kids so we give each other a healthy allowance to do with as we wish. She...has a horse) and you see that I will have way more space than games sooner rather than later.
So, I decided to scrap the Chopping Block project for now, it will always be on the back burner but right now I need to work on something more pressing and immediate. I want to clear out some of the easier games in my collection regardless of whether they were on my tag already or not. I'm doing this simply to help make room.
Heres the games I'm ear marking for this new project:
1) Megamind. I started this one today in fact and already have it over 500gs so that one will be out hopefully in a couple days at most
2) BK Sneak King
3) BK Big Bumpin'
4) Bully Scholarship Edition (This ones already on my tag and I know its not a quick game, but I can sell this to a friend who loves it after Im done)
5) Captain America
6) Crash Mind Over Mutant
7) CSI Fatal Conspiracy
8) Disney Pixar's UP
9) Saints Row the Third (again not a quick game but I wasn't as happy withthis one as I thought I would be. I, like some two other friends got suckered into buying it by another friend addicted to the series...who ultimately traded it in in to get BF3 when he decided he didn't like it)
10) Spongebob's Truth or Squared
All these games were chosed for there relative ease of completion (Achievement wise, NOT time wise per se), and I am aiming to 1000gs them all (or full completion with DLC in the case of Saints Row).
All in all I'm looking forward to this actually because i'm feeling a bit off of playing games. I'm just not into it right now but maybe playing these easier ones will get me more juiced to want try harder or more complicated ones.
Now the name I've chosen is rather weak. I'm calling it Operation Easy Competion. Its a sad title (hence the name of my blog), but if you have a better name, feel free to let me know.
