Dawnguard
For those of you that live under rocks or in dark caves, remaining quite naive to the malevolent gaming world of Skyrim, it seems only reasonable to point out the fundamental fact that the most anticipated content release date is exceptionally closing in and will be looming over us, when tomorrow strikes, for the miserly price of 1600MSP. Time to get a hand on some points if you don't have enough and wait for its arrival.
For those of you with little, if any, knowledge of what to expect in Dawnguard, here's a little description;
The Dawnguard are people who live, surprisingly in Fort Dawnguard in the southern fringe of Skyrim, who practice with crossbows, swords and magic in an attempt to defeat the evil vampire lord Horkan, who consequently wants to block out the sun due to his hatred of a regular sun tab when happily strolling the countryside with the bunnies. He lives in his secluded hidden fortress with other vampires and spends much of his time doing dittly squat and complaining that he can't do his daily shopping to the supermarket without ending up becoming a burnt crisp. Should the urge of becoming a vampire become too overwhelming, there are several enjoyable attributes to enjoy such as being able to hover over water, use unique perks such as vampiric grip and the chance to summon a gargoyle to do your bidding. Should the inclination to have these perks not entirely come to be a desirable choice, you could decide to choose the life of an improved werewolf instead with new sequences and perks here instead and roam around town clawing everyone to death as you see fit.
Of course, there wouldn't be much point of having vampires without vampire slayers and there's where the Dawnguard come in. These brave souls are filled with extravagant, well...bravery, to take them on and so it seems only fitting for them too, to have some perks and abilities of their own. The obvious fact here is the introduction of crossbows which certainly can stagger opponents, but therefore take long to load, and an option to chance your appearance due to the introduction of a new character available within the Ragged Flagon within the thief infested city of Riften, who is also available to all players regardless of their choices. The Dawnguard also receive the ability of having armoured trolls as followers which help to take care of any who get in your way. With the new areas in mind, there's also another area available for full exploration that is an area of the realm of Oblivion ( although takes on a better appearance than those crimson, flame filled lands of red), known as Soul Cairn used to acquisition an Elder Scroll for Horken.
The content also includes the introduction of Dragonbone weapons, which surpass the damage rating of daedric weapons, so if I were you, I would go gather enough bones, scales and other weapon making items for immediate use. Let's not also forget the achievements list for this content;
A New You - 20G - Change Your Face
Awakening - 20G - Complete “Awakening”
Beyond Death - 20G - Complete “Beyond Death”
Kindred Judgement - 40G - Complete “Kindred Judgment”
Lost To The Ages - 30G - Complete “Lost To The Ages”
Soul Tear - 20G - Learn All Three Words Of Soul Tear
Auriel’s Bow - 20G - Use The Special Power Of Auriel’s Bow
Werewolf Mastered - 20G - Acquire 11 Werewolf Perks
Vampire Mastered - 20G - Acquire 11 Vampire Perks
Legend - 40G - Defeat A Legendary Dragon
This certainly seems to be something I shall be spending many an hour on, even after completion. Just a vague sample of what to expect to see tomorrow.

These vampires don't play ball
As the rising sun creeps over the horizon, so does information for Skyrim's Dawnguard and thus, our heads are turned in their direction as we the release draws nearer. Bethesda teased us some time ago with a trailer for Dawnguard and it certainly seems a promising piece of content albeit lacks too much details and we all love details don't we?
Then never fear, like a gutter, water can sometimes flow as well as drip and so it does with info.
It would seem the master vampires in Skyrim have much advantages to their blood-sucking, nocturnal lives, as do the Dawnguard. We all know they can fly and perform some nice moves, but that's where the info ends, unfortunately. We are left stumbling in the dark with nothing more than a dull torch, with no idea where to point it. It seems that our patience for info has been seldomly rewarded with some further details regarding the specific perks these vampires possess. That wouldn't be too fair on the Dawnguard however, who seem less than happy with just crossbows. Fear not, these brave souls have more at hand than meets the eye to deal with these pests, such as the option of an armoured troll as a follower.
Now what could that be? Shall we endeavour to find out?
I think so.

Games to get
With the release of E3 and the growing availability of information for upcoming releases I have made a list for my upcoming games to get and here it is;
LEGO Batman 2: DC Heroes
I always buy every Lego game( with exception to Guitar Hero, which I don't see as a part of the series) and this one looks enticing like the others and new features are always nice, but I'm seldomly displeasured about the choice to introduce voices which will forever change my opinion of the series but I'll be getting the game regardless.
LEGO Lord of the Rings
There's no footage of it, yet, but it looks good from the few screenshots available and I thought they might make a game from the films and it seems a good idea. I wonder if this game will also incorporate voices or perhaps not, if there are strong enough opinions from DC Heroes about it being a negative feature.
Need For Speed Most Wanted
I'm not particularly a fan of the series and thought that Hot Pursuit and The Run weren't particularly good, or even many others for that matter and the original Most Wanted had a good story and a free roaming map which was incorporated into Carbon too, but due to its hard to get reward cards and a poor story, it decreased my opinion of the series, but I was willing to give them another chance when the autolog feature was introduced and hope this time they make a good combination in the game. Although most games have features, graphics and gameplay styles like other games, I don't mind, as long as its got a good gameplay experience to it.
Grand Theft Auto V
This is my biggest and most anticipated game of this year and this will conquer my time above all other games and I can see myself playing this for thousands of hours, judging by the trailer released some time ago. San Andreas is the perfect setting and the graphics look positively good and I hope itll be explosive.
Tomb Raider
I believe the game was called Origins but since the release of two trailers, I see it's just 'Tomb Raider'. With a new take on the franchise, I hope it's a good decision. A worn and torn young Lara shipwrecked on a dark thunderous unknown island is a new introduction for her life choice and I read somewhere it may include co-op or online play and it looks a nice game and I've played the others, so I would naturally expect a different experience from the rest.
Bioshock Infinite
I have to admit that when I say the graphics for the game I thought to myself it looked like the best graphics I've ever seen, but more important noticed two features - its not called Bioshock 3 to maintain the series' title, and I thought Infinite was not as good sounding as 3 for some reason and also that it's not set in Rapture ,but in a city in the sky called Columbia, which is not entirely surprising considering that part of the city was blown into a trench at the end of 2 and maybe a prequel to the beginning of splicing will be introduced in a couple year's time.
Gears of War Judgment
From all the info about the game being released and a couple of videos, it seems EPIC Games are well on their way through the game and maybe on the verge of considering a release date within the foreseeable future. I always thought about the idea of Overrun mode and am rather glad to see it in the next game. I wonder how single player will play out and hope the storyline is strong enough, as right now it doesn't seem particularly strong. A buy for me nonetheless.
And that concludes my games to buy and that means a lot of Xbox'ing to be done over the next year and I hope to get loads of achievements and have a great experience with each of these games and can't wait to see what DLC will be released for any of them.
Any other games anyone can suggest for me? I like free roaming sandbox games and ones with great storylines and an unforgettable experience.

And The Winner Is...
Mike United 007, with an unusual idea regarding a malevolent way to extinguish vampires from throughout the land of Skyrim;
1 - The Van Helsing - 50 points- Pickpocket 10 Vampires and put Garlic into their inventory.
One of those miscellaneous type of achievements, which seems quite the sort to be added to the game. Be sure to be prepared for anything such as this, that Mr Howard may concede to throw our way.
Well done! I have the points at hand for immediate disposal.

Microsoft Monday #35
I know that it is Friday and the current of time has flowed by with the greatest of exuberance, but a unique thought has come to mind that I feel contempt to elaborate upon.
With Skyrim's content closing in( and although I already know the content of the content) I thought about weaponry. As I was mining ore in mines in Skyrim some time ago, to add to my adverse collection, I wondered why there had been no consideration for the creation of gold weapons and armor. There's iron ingots for the making of iron daggers, axes, armor etc, steel ingots for steel daggers, axes, armor etc, and the same for elven, dwarven, ebony, dragonscale - daedric too if you consider ebony's usage.
I know gold is reserved for jewellery, but if silver is in jewellery and weapons and armor too, then why can't gold be too. I came across silver weaponry in my travels, but never gold weaponry. I know it's not in the game, but I feel it should be.
Shiny gold armor that gleams like, well...gold. It would certainly be hard to come by a lot of gold ingots( with exception to Kolsgerr Mine), which would make the creation of gold weapons and armor considerably more enjoyable.
I would like to see it added as content since its not in the game as it would be, in my opinion, quite successful. Or if Todd Howard is feeling particularly generous, then free in an update, or just free content for the unfortunate inconviences caused by numerous glitches within the game. Anyway, there's my idea for some content.
Now to finally move onto competition time. Since I've been blathering about Skyrim, I might as well keep in tandem with it for the competition. The prize this time is, unfortunately, not a game, as such acquisitions are temporarily unavailable. It will have to be 1200 MSP.
In order to win, provide to me an achievement name, gamerscore value and achievement description that you would like to see in Skyrim, with the release of its upcoming content. Weird, wacky, vulgar, unusual and plain silly ideas are all welcome. A maximum of three entries per person. The winner will be chosen at the end of Saturday at 23:59 GMT and announced some time on Sunday, so chop chop and good luck!
