PermalinkShitty Songs Give Me Vertigo
This last week and current week I've been trying to get some of the easier and shittier games off my shelf seeing as they have more than overstayed their welcome in my game library. Ran into some more Family Game glitches this week with one of the totems in Brave miraculously disappearing without being picked up which means, you guessed it, I have to play through the first 7 or so levels just to get all the collectibles. angry

Stats this week are as follows, I ended up unlocking 44 achievements over the course of 7 different games this week for a GS gain of 2140 and a TA gain of 2869. The TA and GS ratios are pretty small but that comes with playing some of the easier games out on console. The way I see it I have completed my fair share of tough games as well so this is like a SAGcation(Shitty Ass Game vacation) for me. I hit the 100 Completed retail games mark this week as well as the 280,000

Favorite Achievement of the Week:
To Jugger or to Jugger-Naut achievement in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for killing all the Juggernauts after they have landed on Vertigo.

Most Rewarding Achievement of the Week:
Mutate achievement in Nexuiz for maxing out a tier 3 mutator. BIG thanks for Kryptonians for his help with this.

GoHastings had another sale this week and I decided to pick up another 8 games half of which I have already played and want to go back and complete. The 8 games I got from there are: MLB 2K6, Enchanted Arms, Condemned: Criminal Origins, CSI : Fatal Conspiracy, Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers, Cabella's Alaskan Adventures, Viking: Battle for Asgard, and Clive Barker's Jericho. I also picked up two track packs for RB3 and Second Chance by Shinedown. The two packs were the new Bullet for my Valentine pack and the Three Days Grace pack.

This week all I believe I am picking up is the Killswitch Engage track pack on RB3, but as usual that's subject to change.

During the week I completed Disney's High School Musical 3, Nexuiz, and the Mw3 Collection 3.

Disney's High School Musical 3 -
I'm not one to judge singing games so what I have to say about this isn't much and I'm not going to lie, before this game I have never heard a single song and am ashamed to say that a couple actually did grow on me. Game took about 7 hours to complete and definitely is easy for a singing game, I ended up getting the 75% on Scream with ease and even scored the highest score I posted on any song with 1.57 million. I don't have anything else to say about this game, it's easy, if you've seen the movies and like the songs... GO NUTS.

Nexuiz-
This is a pretty solid tournament shooter only problem is it has a lot of glitches that need to be fixed on XBL and the developers don't plan on paying to put the update in place. It feels and moves just like an Unreal game and the visual and tone changes in the game also look very good. When the game was on sale for 200 MSP a couple weeks back it was DEFINITELY worth the buy if you didn't already have it. If you do end up getting this game be ready for a long grind unless you have a session for the mutators smile

My Goals of the Week are as follows:
-Complete Rock Revolution MP Achievements with Death434
-Work on DJ hero 2 level 50 grind with Death 434
-Brave - Find all totems
-MLB 2k6 - Rob a home run - Complete it...

Just a reminder to myself, I need to win a million dollars on September 6th for the last achievement in 5th grader.

As always, thanks for reading.

PermalinkCars Real Big, Bees Real Big, Meat Real Big (WAT), Everything Real Big!
First to explain my title so no one thinks it's super homo. Pretty much I've been using Titles involving games I've been playing and TRYING to mostly just involve games I completed during the week, but that's not always possible. Last weeks title was clearly from Wizard of Oz, this week I went with rap lyrics, only changed around the words again, clearly. This weeks the title is from Mannie Fresh's Real Big, which is a rap song. I clarify these things for people like Griizzy who is a little bit slower and would probably call me a slang term for someone who likes "meat" so to speak.

That out of the way this weeks stats were about as average as usual netting 30 achievements in 4 games (Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, Pimp My Ride, Wallace and Gromit #1, and Super Meat Boy) for 925 gamerscore which translated into 2,088 TA score.

Favorite Achievement of the Week:
Crack Shot achievement in Wallace & Gromit 1: Fright of the Bees for not missing a shot in the shooting gallery scenario

Most Rewarding Achievement of the Week:
I'm A Golden God! achievement in Super Meat Boy for 100%ing the game. Definitely happy to complete this title.

I said last week I was going to get The Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD remake but I thought about the pile of games I already have and realized that I only wanted it for the nostalgia factor so I downloaded the demo and got my 1:30 second fix in and moved on. Games I DID pick up last week from the Steam sales were:
-GTA IV (GFWL)
-Arma II + DLC
-Garry's Mod
-Gotham City Impostors (GFWL)
I don't plan on doing GTA achievements on the PC but I do plan on messing around with the MP with friends, however with GCI I wouldn't mind playing that again if the numbers are there on PC.

I ended up completing 3 games last week with Super Meat Boy, Wallace and Gromit 1: Fright of the Bees, and Pimp My Ride so as I've done in the past here are my short reviews of what I liked or didn't like from the games.

Super Meat Boy -
This game is one of the most frustrating games I think I have played to date on the Xbox 360. It plays perfectly but the problem is the difficulty and I am surprised at fact that so many people had it completed without breaking something first. I loved the game-play it was really smooth, and the ability to unlock other characters in turn helped on some of the levels later in the game. I would say this game is worth it for at least a play through as a lot of the cut scenes did make me laugh.

Wallace and Gromit 1: Fright of the Bees-
I honestly didn't know what to expect from these games, I just read that they were easy so I picked them up. I have no real complaints about this game the puzzles were challenging without a walk through and I got stuck in a few spots, real brain teasers. Walking was a little clunky at times as well as some of the animations but all in all I wasn't upset at all. After the play through I would say this game isn't really for anyone but kids or someone who really loves the W+G series.

Pimp My Ride-
This game is in the Top 3 for THE WORST games I have played on the Xbox to date. I played it back when I had Gamefly about 3-4 years ago and couldn't get anywhere in the game because it was so unplayable. I then rented the game again a couple years later... same outcome. This past month I bought it for $3.33 during a gohastings.com sale and even then I felt like I was being penetrated with that price, even so, I had to face my demons one more time. With my ability to play shitty games at an all time high I tackled this beast once and for all, and even with the completion I don't feel as if I won. Nothing I can say about this game can do it any justice and I say that from the bottom of my heart. The only enjoyment I got out of this game was peoples reactions during my live stream to playing it. The graphics belong on the N64, The sound is that of generic hip hop beats with the occasional Xzibit song, the game-play driving was reminiscent to Crazy Taxi, and the cut scenes as well as the Bios for the characters were VERY stereotypical and borderline racist IMO. I really can't say I would rate this game higher than a 2/10.. Good Bye Pimp My Ride, I will be sending you to some other unfortunate soul.

This weeks goals are as follows :

-Complete Wallace and Gromit #2
-Complete Nexuiz
-Complete Sing It : High School Musical 3 (Already Done) wave
-Continue Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY on PC
-70 Extra Credit Stars in 5th Grader
-Kill another survivor in the DayZ mod on PC

I have spent so much time on this game (DayZ) and it is INCREDIBLY addicting, however, I have been killed a lot for no reason when running into other survivors - I WANT VENGEANCE.

As always, thanks for reading... Shit in Xzibit's mailbox for me if you can.

PermalinkHomophone Week with Meet and Meat and a little Pimpin'
Well gang I had a pretty slow week this week in terms of gaming only played a select few titles including Meet the Robinsons and Super Meat Boy... hence the title of this blog post :P

Didn't hit any major milestones this week and I only ended up completing one game in Meet The Robinsons with my review of that to come, as well as completing the Mw3 Spec ops DLC 3 (with the exception of the Vertigo map as it's not out yet). I ended up getting at least one achievement in 6 different games for a total of 665 gamerscore and a total of 1159 TA and a total of 18 achievements.

Favorite Achievement of the Week:
dr0n3d achievement in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Basically picked this for the achievement name.

Most Rewarding Achievement of the Week:
The Kid achievement in Super Meat Boy for beating the warp zone with the kid... toughest 3 levels of the game so far for me and I'm almost done with it.

So this is what I think about Meet The Robinsons... It's not very good. Played through it and it's a typical kids movie game which obviously I knew beforehand but when you first start the game you notice that you can't jump I thought that this would set the tone of the game but surprisingly it did not. Some of the puzzles in this game even stumped me at parts which added somewhat of a fun factor to the game. The graphics and visuals are that of every other type of game in this genre so don't expect too much here. I did encounter what seemed to be one of the many glitches this wonderful game offers, right near the end of the game I decided I would go back and do some of the Havoc puzzles and when I went back to where I left off the bridge was down but I was unable to cross it. That was the biggest downfall, having to play through it twice in such a short time cry. Overall I would rate this game a 5 out of 10 but even I think that's being a bit generous.

I did end up completing all of my goals of last week with the exception of starting sing it which I plan on doing this week as well... hopefully that doesn't fall through. This weeks goals are as follows:

-Complete Pimp My Ride
-60% Missions complete in UMvC3
-7 More characters finishing arcade mode in UMvC3
-Perform 50 Snap Backs in UMvC3
-Continue AC: Brotherhood
-Start Sing It: High School Musical 3
-Progress through KOF 98' now that I got an achievement in that
-Super Meat Boy, All band-aids

Last week I ended up picking up quite a few titles on Steam (GASP he plays PC games as well AND THEY DON'T HAVE ACHIEVEMENTS!) I did end up getting Raskulls for the xbox and hopefully will be able to play some multiplayer with CC Blackhawk. On steam I ended up picking up Counterstrike, Counterstrike Source, Counterstrike Condition Zero, Blacklight Retribution, Day of Defeat, Ricochet, PAYDAY: The Heist, Terraria, and The Binding of Isaac with DLC. This week I plan on picking up Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD and that should be it.. hopefully.

I will be streaming the goal games as well as many other games on my channel twitch.tv/tips_ nightly around 11pm EST on the weekdays and anytime on the weekends assuming I am not busy.

PermalinkZombies, Vampires, and Disney Games.. Oh my!
WHAT A WEEK! Evo 2012 this past weekend so sorry for all who tried to tune into SnD Sunday, we will be bringing it back this coming Sunday with a possible drinking game to go with. I had a request from a friend asking me if I would incorporate my feelings and general thoughts about the games that I have been playing during the week so I will do him one better and once I complete, or come close to completing, I will express my overall 1/10 rating along with how I felt about that game.

With that said I hit two milestones this week with 180,000 gamerscore and 7750 total achievements won. Over the course of the week I gained 59 total achievements through 6 games for 1905 gamerscore and 2432 TA score.

My most rewarding achievement of the week goes to:
Dynamic! achievement in Nexuiz for using 25 mutators in a single match. Definitely a difficult one to obtain.

My favorite achievement of the week goes to:
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner achievement in The Walking Dead. I'm not going to spoil for those who haven't played it yet but when you play it, you'll know why.

I completed a few things over the course of the week and i'll share a little bit about each game. I completed the Skyrim - Dawnguard DLC, Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, and Episode 2 of the Walking Dead.

Walking Dead - Amazing DLC is how I can describe it, the story takes a huge turn on you that you may or may not expect and as always is interesting with the choices given to the player. I managed to not die during this episode which is pretty good in a game like this where you kind of learn from your mistakes. I still think that fact that it shows you percentages of choices at the end from the populous is awesome and it's good to see that most would follow their true to self choices, especially in a game about survival. Overall I would give this DLC a 8, Fun expansion to the series and looking forward to episode 3 as well as the full retail game.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs - I have nothing to complain about when it came to this game, it is a kids game so it should be treated as such. Bought it for 5$ off the dashboard so it was a cheap 1000 that took about 4-5 hours to complete. I have never seen the movie but I'm guessing it was not far off from the story. There was a couple levels where collectibles can become a problem if not following a guide but nothing impossible to see from certain angles. Overall I would give this game a 5, I bought it simply for the easy 1000, don't expect too much in terms of gameplay from this.

The Elder Scrolls V : Dawnguard DLC - This was an amazing expansion to the already amazing GOTY last year. The Vampire Lord and Werewolf skill trees offered a unique experience to the game and gave it a different view from the norm. Vampire Lord skills were very solid, my only complaint is the Werewolf skill trees, they were very MEH in comparison, not to mention I think mine were bugged because I couldn't find a way to use or change the skills. The 20$ price tag is a heavy payment but it did bring another 5+ hours of gameplay to the game with the side quest and main quest line depending all on how you play of course. Achievement wise none were very difficult unless you were below the level of 78. If you were below your chances of finding a Legendary Dragon are slim to none therefore making you play a lot just for the achievement unless you did the Book glitch. Overall I would give this DLC a 9, The price tag is what is going to get most people when it comes to this as well as some new found not so fun glitches in the quest line.

Goals of the week:
-Complete Meet The Robinsons
-Start Disney's Sing It, possibly complete it
-Start Pimp My Ride, for the third time
-MW3 Spec Ops Missions (Assuming they are out)
-Break 45% Missions in UMVC3
-Complete story mode on UMVC3 with at least 1 character a day

With all that said I don't know what we have for deals this week so I don't know if I will be picking up anything new but I know I am all set with the arcade releases this week. You can catch me streaming almost nightly at twitch.tv/tips_ go there make a name if you don't already have one and follow the channel.

Thanks for reading and Happy hunting!

PermalinkBack Home on the XBOX
So as a lot of you may or may not know I took a little vacation from playing my xbox for the release of Diablo 3 on the PC. I loved every minute of D3 and actually am currently halfway through Act II on inferno difficulty. I came on from time to time for Minecraft and other various games as to not totally abandon my xbox and here are a few stats in the last week.

I played a total of 5 games in which I gained at least one achievement. Overall I achieved 690 GS for a total of 1004 TA.

Favorite Achievement of the Week:
Game COMPREET-O! Achievement from South Parks Let's Go Tower Defense Play

Most Difficult Achievement of the Week:
MANBEARPIG! also from South Parks Let's Go Tower Defense Play

Over the course of the week I completed a few things including South Park, The Echo Six Expansion 2 from Resident Evil : Operation Raccoon City, and Shoot Many Robots.

A couple milestones worth mentioning for #MilestoneMonday are the completion percentage moving up to 74% and the 70 completed arcade games.

As for the list of games i've picked up in the last couple weeks I think may be overkill but GoHastings.com was have a 33% off sale with the promo code of Concords. Check it out, used games galore! With that said I ended up picking up :

Meet The Robinsons, Pimp My Ride both of which I started a long time ago and never finished. Where the Wild Things Are, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Blazing Angels : Squadrons of WWII, Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009, Brave: A Warrior's Tale, Sing It: High School Musical 3, Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat. Off the dashboard I got Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Prince of Persia : The Forgotten Sands (Might have made that last part of that game up..) for 5$ a piece so all in all those 11 games cost me a grand total of 46$ (Excluding shipping).

For arcade titles I got these past 2-3 weeks I picked up Outland, Walking Dead Episode 2, Shoot Many Robots, Haunt (free off dashboard).

Games I'm looking to pickup this week are : NOTHING I HAVE TOO MANY DAMN GAMES ALREADY and me picking up all these new shitty ones (with a mix of a few gems) didn't help that cause.

I will be streaming the Skryim DLC this week while I try and continue and complete it as well as Sniper Elite v2 seeing as IM STILL borrowing that from a friend. From there I will be moving on to the Walking Dead Episode 2 and whatever else I feel the need to play.

As always check in every Sunday night for SnD Sunday at 8pm EST live at twitch.tv/tips_ - Come in and say Hi, during the week as well with the cast usually starting around 11pm EST.

Thanks for reading! -TiPS
