Eh the blog needed updating...
I am deeming Kinect week a complete success.
I completed 5 "games"
Hulk Hogan's Main Event Which i started in November 2012. Periodically would lose tracking. Ended up needing to walk off screen so it would track properly. Menus could be erratic too so there were probably a half dozen times when i quit out of a fight and didn't want to do so.
izret102's achievements in Deepak Chopra's LeelaAlso started in November of 2012. Probably 95% of this game is easy. The exceptions being
which is more luck than skill.
The other being
which while random is much more generous with the needed blue orbs to keep you moving. That being said i still had several attempts where i ended between 1:50 and 1:57 before finally getting the needed 2 minutes.
was without a doubt the most difficult part of the game.(For me) Level design was like Frequency where you move around inside of a "tube" difference being in Frequency you had to hit note to make a beat. In this you need to move from track to track to pick up blocks of the same color. More or less the rest of the game is pretty slow paced but this got pretty frantic on some of the later levels.
izret102's achievements in Kinect PlayFit i had actually started in August 2012. At the time the Explorer achievement had glitched on me and popped before meeting the requirements. Initially i was happy about it because the calorie tracking was pretty shoddy. In the end it didn't matter because i met the requirements by WAY more than needed.
izret102's achievements in Freefall Racers i had only started a month ago. I really didn't think i was going to be able to complete it because even with a couple hours of trying to get
with my son (who was hilarious to watch playing) he wasn't getting anywhere near the required skill to complete it. I finally tricked my other half into playing it with me and after 5-6 runs she was good enough to take second place... barely.
izret102's achievements in Self-Defense Training CampMore or less took me a day to finish. The Balance section gave me the most trouble specifically #7. It was very heavy on foot/leg recognition and seemed to not want to track at all. It took me a couple hours to pass that one and then i passed 8 in 2 attempts and 9/10 on the first try.
The only other thing that might give people who are insanely lacking in flexibility would be the kick attacks. Fairly certain regardless of your height you need to get your foot shoulder high in order for it to track as a high kick. Even so i only had to replay the first level once. And being only 5 levels at 1:30 long it should still be easy enough for almost anyone to complete.
izret102's achievements in Just Dance 3 also had quite a bit in it i was able to finish which i had really assumed would not be the case. If i had spent more time with it i could have probably gotten a few more achievements out of it. I might go back at some point to work on the songs played and getting starts on every track but i'm in no rush.
On the Mortal Kombat front....
I've had a friend keeping an eye out on this for me for a while now
I ended up importing it from Europe. So yay i got it finally! But boo i need to find a sealed US copy still at some point. Plus with the way Euro games are released(TOO MANY REGIONAL VARIANTS) i might need to track down another European release at some point.
I actually didn't have the money to buy it so i asked my mother to get it for me as a birthday present since every year she complains that i never tell her what to get me and i end up with socks or some random goofy but generally thoughtful gift.
Since i have next to no income i haven't been buying much of anything and have not been browsing eBay but for whatever reason i had the urge to do so today. Came across an auction for this
with a couple hours left on it and decided to bite the bullet. It was fate :-P
I'll have to get some stuff put up for sale recoup at least what i spent on it. But i've been waiting for one in good condition to show up at a reasonable price for so long i couldn't not buy it. There have been a couple put up for stupid high priced 200-300$s and were in much worse looking shape so i am pretty happy :)
Fingers crossed nothing else i REALLY want shows up until i can afford to get it. There are always MK goodies i don't own and want luckily there isn't anything else on my "must have" radar that i have been hunting down.
