[Blog Post #3] Prototype WeekPermalink
Well, as the title suggests, I've been playing almost nothing but Prototype and Prototype 2 for the last week. Earlier this week I completed Prototype after unlocking this:
Prototype (Xbox 360)Revenge RevisitedThe Revenge Revisited achievement in Prototype (Xbox 360) worth 359 pointsComplete Story Mode on hard difficulty.

Playing through the game on Hard wasn't an easy feat. The bosses took a little getting used to compared to Normal and I found that using the Whipfist was the best option for nearly every boss. This made even Hard significantly easier.

After unlocking that I immediately started Prototype 2, and quickly realized how dramatically easier the game is compared to the first. Just look at the TA Score for each of them (2,402 for 1 and a mere 1250 for 2). Even with that I still heavily enjoyed playing through the game. An hour before writing this I finished the story and now I just have two Achievements left to get:
Prototype 2 (Xbox 360)All Growed UpThe All Growed Up achievement in Prototype 2 (Xbox 360) worth 100 pointsFully upgrade Heller.

Prototype 2 (Xbox 360)Master PrototypeThe Master Prototype achievement in Prototype 2 (Xbox 360) worth 96 pointsComplete the game on HARD difficulty.

All Growed Up will literally take no time at all and I know it will come naturally as I progress through Hard. Unlike the first game, New Game + allows you to carry all of your upgrades and powers over to Hard mode so playing through this while skipping all of the cutscenes will take no time at all.

I've just started my work term for school two days ago so that is seriously going to limit the amount of time I'll be able to play as it is all shift work (12 hours straight for one shift). However, I will be doing my best to keep my current streak going. At the time of writing this, my streak is at 59 days and I plan on keeping that going for as long as possible.

I've also started playing Hexic for Windows 8 this week but I haven't progressed too far in that just yet. After completing Prototype 2 (today hopefully), I'll probably shift my focus over to that most likely but we'll see how it goes. I haven't played any Samurai vs Zombies Defense either so I'll probably get back on that extremely boring train as well. I just wish it wasn't so damn slow and boring. I feel drained just playing it at this point.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll complete it one day. :)

[Blog Post #2] - SvZ Progress Update #1Permalink
Not much to say this week. Another couple of completions for myself: Shark Dash (Extremely easy completion, quick 200GS) and Reckless Racing Ultimate (Extremely tricky completion, get ready for a grind if you take on this one).

Prototype and Reckless Racing have taken up almost all of my time over the past week (besides studying) but I still found time at night to play some SvZ. I actually made quite a bit of progress with it but I still have a long way to go. It's killing me. Anyway, this is my current progress for that:

Wave 1:   99          Wave 26: 12
Wave 2:   60          Wave 27: 12
Wave 3:   30          Wave 28: 12
Wave 4:   30          Wave 29: 12
Wave 5:   30          Wave 30: 12
Wave 6:   30          Wave 31: 12
Wave 7:   30          Wave 32: 12
Wave 8:   30          Wave 33: 12
Wave 9:   30          Wave 34: 12
Wave 10: 30          Wave 35: 12
Wave 11: 12          Wave 36: 12
Wave 12: 12          Wave 37: 12
Wave 13: 12          Wave 38: 12
Wave 14: 12          Wave 39: 12
Wave 15: 12          Wave 40: 31
Wave 16: 12          Wave 41: 21
Wave 17: 12          Wave 42: 21
Wave 18: 12          Wave 43: 21
Wave 19: 12          Wave 44: 21
Wave 20: 12          Wave 45: 21
Wave 21: 12          Wave 46: 21
Wave 22: 12          Wave 47: 21
Wave 23: 12          Wave 48: 21
Wave 24: 12          Wave 49: 21
Wave 25: 12          Wave 50: 21

Total: 988/4950 (19.96%)

About 1/5th of the way there at this point and it feels like I've played it for hours upon hours. Well I guess that's because I have haha.

I managed to get a few Achievements this week that I really had to work for and supplied a lot of relief when they popped. These are:

Reckless Racing Ultimate (Windows)Hardcore! The Hardcore! achievement in Reckless Racing Ultimate (Windows) worth 135 pointsWin all of the Reckless Racing Ultimate Cups on max difficulty.

Reckless Racing Ultimate (Windows)Gymkhana GodThe Gymkhana God achievement in Reckless Racing Ultimate (Windows) worth 107 pointsWin three Gymkhana cups in Career at max difficulty.

Prototype (Xbox 360)PtThe Pt achievement in Prototype (Xbox 360) worth 370 pointsAchieve a Platinum Medal in all Events.

These were probably easy for other people but they had me tearing my hair out in frustration to get so I'm proud of them! I also have a couple of Achievements I really want to get soon and they would be:

Prototype (Xbox 360)Revenge RevisitedThe Revenge Revisited achievement in Prototype (Xbox 360) worth 359 pointsComplete Story Mode on hard difficulty.

Samurai vs Zombies Defense (Windows)That took foreverThe That took forever achievement in Samurai vs Zombies Defense (Windows) worth 916 pointsGet all 50 waves to level 99

Secrets and Treasure: The Lost Cities (Windows)Lost and FoundThe Lost and Found achievement in Secrets and Treasure: The Lost Cities (Windows) worth 15 pointsComplete your 2nd Map!

[Blog Post #1] - Samurai vs Zombies ProgressPermalink
For several weeks now I've debated starting a blog because it would really only be personal and no one would read it anyway. But on the other hand, it allows me to be even more active on the site and that I do like the idea of.

For this first post I just wanted to say a few words about Samurai vs Zombies Defense for Windows 8. Starting this game a couple days ago, I kind of liked it. I figured it would keep getting better, and the Achievements were reasonable as well! Well, except for 1. If you've played it, you know what I'm talking about, and this Achievement pretty much ruins the ride:

Samurai vs Zombies Defense (Windows)That took foreverThe That took forever achievement in Samurai vs Zombies Defense (Windows) worth 916 pointsGet all 50 waves to level 99

This monstrosity of an Achievement is Glu's bogus way of keeping you playing their game, and I don't like that. Not because of the time consuming portion of it either. I'm damn persistent and masochistic when it comes to time consuming Achievements such as this one. The part that bothers me is that eventually, you'll either die of boredom, or cave and spend real money on upgrades. They knew what they were doing though. They knew people would pay for this "Free" game.

Realistically, without spending money, my assumption is that it would take hundreds of hours of playtime to get all 50 waves to 99. I've spent money for upgrades before, and I don't take pride in that, but the companies that release these freemium games place outrageous prices on fake, not real, totally worthless in-game currency. Glu literally has a $99.99 price tag on in-game currency. This isn't the first time I've seen such nonsense either. To be honest, it makes me sick to my stomach.

Anyway, without anymore ranting (you'll quickly learn that I'm both friendly, and extremely opinionated), here's my progress as of writing this blog post for SvZD:

Wave 1:   4          Wave 26:   4
Wave 2:   4          Wave 27:   4
Wave 3:   4          Wave 28:   4
Wave 4:   4          Wave 29:   4
Wave 5:   4          Wave 30:   4
Wave 6:   4          Wave 31:   4
Wave 7:   4          Wave 32:   4
Wave 8:   4          Wave 33:   4
Wave 9:   4          Wave 34:   4
Wave 10: 4          Wave 35:   4
Wave 11: 4          Wave 36:   4
Wave 12: 4          Wave 37:   4
Wave 13: 4          Wave 38:   4
Wave 14: 4          Wave 39:   4
Wave 15: 4          Wave 40: 16
Wave 16: 4          Wave 41: 10
Wave 17: 4          Wave 42: 10
Wave 18: 4          Wave 43: 10
Wave 19: 4          Wave 44: 10
Wave 20: 4          Wave 45: 10
Wave 21: 4          Wave 46: 10
Wave 22: 4          Wave 47: 10
Wave 23: 4          Wave 48: 10
Wave 24: 4          Wave 49: 10
Wave 25: 4          Wave 50: 10

Total: 272/4950 (5.5%)

As you can see I still have a very long ways to go, especially considering I spent the better part of my morning grinding Waves 40-50. The reason I'm starting there is so I literally don't die of boredom later on. For the most part, these are the most time consuming levels and I would like to get them out of the way first so I can power through the easier levels in no time after all my upgrades and such.

On the bright side, I only fell asleep once so far doing this!
