For several weeks now I've debated starting a blog because it would really only be personal and no one would read it anyway. But on the other hand, it allows me to be even
more active on the site and that I do like the idea of.
For this first post I just wanted to say a few words about Samurai vs Zombies Defense for Windows 8. Starting this game a couple days ago, I kind of liked it. I figured it would keep getting better, and the Achievements were reasonable as well! Well, except for 1. If you've played it, you know what I'm talking about, and this Achievement pretty much ruins the ride:
This monstrosity of an Achievement is Glu's bogus way of keeping you playing their game, and I don't like that. Not because of the time consuming portion of it either. I'm damn persistent and masochistic when it comes to time consuming Achievements such as this one. The part that bothers me is that eventually, you'll either die of boredom, or cave and spend real money on upgrades. They knew what they were doing though. They knew people would pay for this "Free" game.
Realistically, without spending money, my assumption is that it would take hundreds of hours of playtime to get all 50 waves to 99. I've spent money for upgrades before, and I don't take pride in that, but the companies that release these freemium games place outrageous prices on fake, not real, totally worthless in-game currency. Glu literally has a $99.99 price tag on in-game currency. This isn't the first time I've seen such nonsense either. To be honest, it makes me sick to my stomach.
Anyway, without anymore ranting (you'll quickly learn that I'm both friendly, and extremely opinionated), here's my progress as of writing this blog post for SvZD:
Wave 1: 4 Wave 26: 4
Wave 2: 4 Wave 27: 4
Wave 3: 4 Wave 28: 4
Wave 4: 4 Wave 29: 4

Wave 10: 4 Wave 35: 4
Wave 11: 4 Wave 36: 4
Wave 12: 4 Wave 37: 4
Wave 13: 4 Wave 38: 4
Wave 14: 4 Wave 39: 4
Wave 15: 4 Wave 40: 16
Wave 16: 4 Wave 41: 10
Wave 17: 4 Wave 42: 10
Wave 18: 4 Wave 43: 10
Wave 19: 4 Wave 44: 10
Wave 20: 4 Wave 45: 10
Wave 21: 4 Wave 46: 10
Wave 22: 4 Wave 47: 10

Wave 24: 4 Wave 49: 10
Wave 25: 4 Wave 50: 10
Total: 272/4950 (5.5%)
As you can see I still have a very long ways to go, especially considering I spent the better part of my morning grinding Waves 40-50. The reason I'm starting there is so I literally don't die of boredom later on. For the most part, these are the most time consuming levels and I would like to get them out of the way first so I can power through the easier levels in no time after all my upgrades and such.
On the bright side, I only fell asleep once so far doing this!
