My Game Of The Month: June 2015Permalink
It's a lovely sunny day... well... f*****g hot to be precise = 33oc - 91F and whilst I could have been sitting out on the beach after work with a can of Coke. Or going to watch the Island Games that are on this week in Jersey... in the end I'm sweating like a pig, sitting on my fat arse in front of a Laptop... doing the monthly blog. Well... how good willing is that for me? laugh

Well as some of you may know, this month I haven't commit myself to the XBox 360 as much as I should of, because I've been playing another game I recently got back from a work colleague who borrowed it (but never played it). And since then I've been hooked on it. So without further or-do, my game of the month for June 2015 is....

Super Smash Bros. Brawl clap

No! It's not the game of the month because it's not an XBox 360 game, but I thought I'd place it in because it deserves an honorable mention. laugh

So I've had this game since around late 2008, but it seems to me that when someone borrows a game off me, I kind of miss it and I want it back in future. But when I did get it back it seems to have got to the point in which I can't stop playing the game... something I should have done around 7 years ago instead of leaving this game gather dust, which is something it truly doesn't deserve. redface

So if you don't know what Smash Bros. is about (you haven't lived to see much if you haven't), then these are games in which chosen Nintendo characters combine in an arena based in a video-game franchise and beat the crap out of each other. Blood is not allowed in Nintendo Exclusive games, so the idea in this game is as you take damage or deal damage on opponents, percentage at the bottom of the screen will increase. The higher the percentage, the more you or your opponent will go flying. Fly too far off the screen and you'll be eliminated. It all doesn't end though as you can do Time Matches, Live Matches and much more. Up to 4 people can fight with or against each other!

I had a bit of fresh air on this game as I had a session on a Friday in June which was s**t and I decided not to come on the XBox on Saturday. Played this game for around 15 hours total I say and I completed a single player game mode called Subspace Emissary. A brilliant storyline in which you have the Nintendo characters meeting up and on a quest to save the world from an evil force created by the Ancient Minister, the leader... Tabuu and Bowser, Wario & Gannondorf providing assistance to some extend. shock

You are treated to some fantastic CGI cutscenes in the Subspace Emissary as well. Here are 3 as an example...

I've also managed to finish all 41 Event Matches in Single Player Mode on the hardest difficulty. The last event... what a bitch. You alone VS Sonic The Hedgehog, Solid Snake & a Giant Mario! You all have 2 Lives each! I never really accuse the famous plumber so much, but Mario was a bastard to defeat as he just easily spams you! angry

Oh, did I just say Solid Snake and Sonic The Hedgehog? Yes it is true, I'm not bulls******g. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the first game in the series to introduce 3rd Party Video-Game characters and whilst Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid) was announced around the same time when the Smash Bros. Brawl trailer was revealed back in 2006, Sonic The Hedgehog was a big announcement as everyone wanted to have a 1-On-1 fight with Sonic The Hedgehog VS Mario... after 17 years of waiting! clap

I still have lots to do on this game, and I'll be using it whenever I get bored, fed up with the XBox 360 or want something to make me laugh at. Example... Wario shitting himself on the stage and flying up high into oblivion shock

Back to the blog itself.

My Game Of The Month For June 2015 on XBox 360 is...

The Smurfs 2 Achievements

Let's just say that this game alone took me around 10 hours to complete. That alone is the winner because I yet to have another game which has managed to surpass that mark. This game has reached #1 for the month by the skin of it's teeth. But it will be a one-off as this game will never be re-played... again! warning

Picked this game up brand new at a really cheap price. And as I've got 2+ other kiddies games which are really like WTF, I thought oh well I just get this one to go with it. Now originally I wanted to spend 1 whole day on this game and get 1000G Gamerscore in a day. There are some games out their that allow you to do this and every now and then, I'd like to achieve all of the gamerscore... Arcade or Retail starting on the day I begin it and finishing it on the day I started it. Usually I like to try and do these features when it's my Birthday or at Christmas.

The problem I've had recently though is that I haven't had a quiet opportunity where I can just sit down by myself and play a game without any distraction. Why? Because I'm a nice guy, as soon as some friends see "BulgyDragonZord Is Online" --- You have message "What are you doing Bulgy?" ---- "Bulgy you twat, I want a word with you!" --- "Oi fat-so, get in the party!" --- Or I just get a random party invite which I've got to attend or else I get the fear that I'll have one less person on my friend list! roll

So when I did have this day I started the game and played away, and then 45 minutes into The Smurfs 2 with some achievement unlocked... Party Invite! Doh!! laugh

I then decided f**k it, I can't get 1000G on this game in a day and it's already 6pm now, so I played away and then I resumed and finished it off the next day! clap

It's actually a not bad game, the graphics are detailed, the game-play is simple and if your familiar with playing Mario & Sonic platform games, then you will realize this game will bring you back to the old gaming world... except that this is way easier to complete. The only drawback on this though is that once you have completed the game and you have to replay the levels, you always ask yourself the question "Urrgghh... do I have to do this level again". On top of that you also get...

Project Gotham Racing 3 Achievements

Having already got the online achievements for this game done, the reason that this game is in the charts is because I helped a friend get the "Online Professional" achievement done on this game. Whilst he hasn't got it yet, the progress towards this achievement should now be slightly easier.

PGR 3 was one of the first games I got with the XBox 360 along with Gears Of War and some Arcade Games. I started playing the game back in 2007 but then I put it aside as I didn't enjoy it. I decided to start it again in 2011 and when I did get round to playing it... some achievements we're discontinued (Tournaments). Annoyed by this I went on PGR 4 straight away and started playing on that game too. PGR 4 is way better than PGR 3 as it's more inviting with the new features such as Motorbikes, Weather Conditions and different tracks.

This one however is a pain. I haven't got many of the difficulty achievements done, because it is very difficult to do. Many people believe this is one of or if not the hardest XBox 360 game to get all of the difficulty achievements done on. angry

Going back to the online side though, I set up 2 sessions with my friend and a group of people wanting the "Online Professional" achievement. It's a nightmare to do because you have to get a win in each of the game modes. There are 8 and most of them need 4 people in the lobby to start. The trouble with this game is that the servers are not great as some people cannot connect to each other due to region, connectivity, online structure and what level ranking you are. angry
Originally we planned the session for 4 hours just to get the game modes completed for everyone. It took us 5hr 30m+ and that was just for 6 people (I didn't need it). But that alone is very impressive as that requirement alone could take you around 10+ hours to do originally.

I don't think you'll see this game on the list anytime soon in this collection as I believe the next time I try to add this game to the charts is when I want to get all of the remaining achievements I can go for in the game. warning

Forza Horizon Achievements

As I tend to play my Forza games, it was only a matter of time before Forza Horizon would be added to the collection. One of my friends decided to play the game due to suffering from boredom on Forza Motorsport 4 and he wanted me to play along with him.

At first I wasn't sure of the game as I didn't like the fact that in order for you to play online with your friends, you've got to progress in the campaign. Then I had the fear in which ouu is everything still obtainable in this game or not?

Eventually after I put myself into dedication on this game, we paired up and got some achievements done in the game. I'll strongly praise the fact that you can get all of the online achievements done on this game, with a partner... and some on your own as well! smile

The setup and the environment on this game is really good. As you can tell, most of the events are placed in Racing Festivals with some of the latest music from Radio Stations broadcasted in the game! It's like going for a gig and a race at the same time!
I don't know if you would be satisfied though if you get drunk and do the above whilst your on this game as well! Hmmm?

Whilst I have done the online side of this game, beside the achievements I need to do on my own. I've still got a bit of work to do before I can say this games done. I'll likely try and commit myself on the other Forza Motorsport games first, so don't expect to see this game re-appear for awhile neither. warning

Ending

Well... I've tried to make this blog as funny and entertaining as possible as you can tell. But I've reached the point where all that has to end for a month. Now sadly I regret to tell you that choosing my future games for these monthly blogs will start to get tricky throughout now and the rest of the year. The reasons is because July and August = Summer = F*****g hot! = XBox 360 = F*****g hot! My XBox 360 Elite has this one problem = After leaving it on for a long while it starts to get hot and if I'm using my dummy account for awhile, that gets hot too. So for this year, instead of suffering in my bedroom with 2 Overheated XBox 360's and Mosquito's. I want to try and cut down the amount of times I play really late at night on the console to avoid this issue I get!

The other reason is I'll be starting another Christmas DVD for my family at the end of August. Last DVD I truly did began in October of that year and I ran out of time as I still trying to burn the program on the DVD Disc on Christmas Eve. I was up until 2:30am on Christmas Day finishing it off and I needed to be up at 6am that day as well. I had to help my mum carry a 10LB Turkey and put it in the oven. About 5 hours that beast took to cook!

Anyway that's enough of Games, Smash Bros, Smurfs, PGR, Christmas etc. I'm going to shit myself for a month and I'll see you in August wave

shock WWWWAAAFFFFTTT!!!!!

My Game Of The Month: May 2015Permalink
As I'm just sitting here, waiting for something to do or come by, I thought the best thing for me to do was to present this blog early because this weekend in particular is going to be flat out for me... and after the weekend we're already in June for this year. Well s**t. shock

Once again for another month, May this year is disappointing compared to April. The reason is because I've only managed to complete a handful of easy Arcade Games off the boosting list and I've gained even more games to the list. And right now towards the end of the month, I haven't even been on the XBox 360 at all. Some VGM Music for a game I want to make has kept me inspired. This is alright, but it's not good if I want to get some games done. I do have one game ready for me to play, but I want to find an opportunity where I have at least 6 - 8 hours, so that I can get all the achievements in one sitting. Can I get that in life and on the XBox? No!! Not really anymore now. angry

You will find most of the games for this month will easily be repeats, but we are not allowed to skip a month, so here are the results for this month's gaming structure. Here is... #1...

Gotham City Impostors Achievements

Despite the fact that I've only got 1 achievement in this game, I've spent more time on this than any other game throughout the month. As previously stated around I wanted to boost this game since January, and now I'm pleased to say I'm nearly their. I've possibly picked up one of the annoying achievements in the game that required me to boost it and play legit. clap

We've been struggling a lot on this game because throughout May Microsoft has got XBox Live issues with connecting to games and XBox Live Parties. Therefore if your trying to organize 12 people in a game of Gotham City Imposters in 2 separate teams, nothing would get you more than to organize 6 players. Go and create a second party and then find out your first one got disbanded due to a connection issue. angry

I only have one simple achievement left which I could do legit, but I'm going to save for a boosting session to help fill some gaps for players who still need to do Nemesis. I will however once I get that done look into getting this game completed by glitching to Level 100 and get the Challenges done. clap

The shameful thing about this game is that I wish I could enjoy it, but I can't as much due to the connection issues, the game freezing up on maps, disbanded parties and bad multiplayer structure. Sigh. cry

Here is a blog I posted talking more about this game...

Burnout Paradise Achievements

Like Gotham City Imposters, this one is still around on the list, but it shouldn't be for a long time because most of us in the group are close to completing the Challenges and online requirements in the game.

With the help of a couple friends, we've been working on the misc online achievements and now we are left with getting some more challenges done. The game has had some great moments and I'll admit, I have been enjoying this one more than Burnout Revenge. It does take longer to get the online achievements compared to Burnout Revenge, but this game will sure give you moments where you want to laugh or cry. The only problem is that if you have a friend/guest who likes gaming as well as you, if they see you play this, they will want to take the controller off your hands. laugh

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Achievements

This is a game that should have appeared in October due to it being close to Halloween. But due to the fact that the online on this game is known to have glitchy issues and problems with achievements unlocked, who wants to wait another 6 months to play this?

I've been meeting up with a group once a week and we have been working on the online side of this game. Most of the online achievements on this game are glitchy useless you played at a certain time, and you play online first. 2 requirements I've followed and I already have 2/3 achievements which are known to be Partly Discontinued... so that's good! clap

I wasn't sure of this game when I first played it on my tag, because I wasn't a great fan of Ghostbusters: Sanctum Of Slime (XBox Live Arcade Game). However this game was a bit of a treat... even though I've never watched the films to date. shock

The things I like in this game is the fact it is played in a Third-Person mode like Gears Of War, Dark Sector, Resident Evil. You can choose one of the characters from the films with their original actors reprising their roles (tribute to Harold Ramis).
Controls we're awkward to start with cause I thought cn_LT was to zoom in and fire. But in the end you are relying on your crosshair since it is in actual fact a secondary fire button... better than some other games.

We still have a little bit of work to do as a team, but so far it sure has been a bit of a blast. We sure given some ghosts some sarcasm. You should hear what I say to them. laugh

So with another month wrapped up, I'll catch you all soon for another one of these blogs. I have one question for you before I leave. "Who Ya Gonna Call?!"

My Game Of The Month: April 2015Permalink
Ouuff... I've only just been up for over an hour. On and off being unwell for the last 2 weeks. cry Suffered a small migraine on the side of my head last night and must have slept for a good few hours. I could blame gaming in this situation as since I'm growing older, my body is not coping with the fact that I could stay up until midnight or later everyday just to try and finish some games. Some people know when they chat to me in a party, you may not hear me for a short period of time, then suddenly... sleep - for around 1 - 2 hours facepalm.

Regardless of that situation, April has probably been the best month for me so far with my checklist and backlog. I must have finished more than 5+ games with all of the online achievements, and now my shelf with all of the online achievements completed is full. Need to find some more space in my room to store these games... or actually try to finish them. roll

And what do I do with this progress? Only buy more games instead of Birthday presents. facepalm

Choosing the 3 games to place for this month, wasn't easy as I could have added more to the chart. I know for a fact that 1 game "still" topped the chart more than any other game. And as I hinted last month, I believe you know which one it's going to be. Why it's quite simply...

Far Cry 2 Achievements

It has been a long haul in this game, but after sitting down with a friend who kindly lent me his dummy account, I boosted for 9 hours straight. Got to Level 20, then got the Weapons done for the "Soldier Of Misfortune" achievement and then de-ranked to rank up to Level 30. What makes this game still #1 of the month was the sheer commitment I needed to put in just to get the game done. 9 hours in one day was still not enough. I needed more time a couple weeks before just to get this done. shock
But aside from helping a couple more friends who need this done (I can just provide the dummies), after years of having this game on my tag with the online incomplete, I can finally close the book and end the chapter with probably one of the grind-est games... completed with the online achievements. clap

Gotham City Impostors Achievements

This one is still in progress, but I'm pleased to say I've made a huge dent and it hasn't been as grindy as what I thought it was going to be. Think I've put in over 15+ hours worth of boosting.

This has been a game which I wanted to boost since January, but due to the loss of my family relative, I put this one on hold and never rushed back into it. It's only been now that I decided to get my ass back into shift shape and get onto this game to get it done.

Throughout every session I've done, I had to bring my dummy account to fill in gaps and provide support. This in actual fact has been good to me, because for some achievements you need to take turns get a certain amount of kills with your partner. Since a dummy doesn't go for achievements, it means for me that I can work on my stuff more faster and productively. Yes you could say I'm a sly dog and I'm taking the advantage here, but anyone who joined any of the sessions would know that I was the host and in some sessions, rounding up the 12 players was a bitch. Simply because of lateness, no shows, connection issues, disconnections on XBox Live and much more. Oh it's just like going back on Call Of Duty: World At War again! angry

Whilst I would like to say that I want to enjoy this game, I can't say it's my favorite for the simple reason it's broken, due to the fact that some people during matches may have connection issues, or get disconnected on XBox Live and one map in particular glitches 1 player or a team completely. Worst of all it is a map you need to win on for one particular achievement. angry

Well I'm not giving up as I'm close to getting a couple more achievements done, then once I reach Level 53, I'll glitch to Level 100. "WAYHAY!! AND I'M OFF!!" clap

3rd Place...

Burnout Paradise Achievements

It was between this game and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, however this game takes 3rd place by the skin of it's teeth.

This has been another one of my boosting priorities and throughout April I've been hosting a weekly session with a group of friends on TA. So far we've done the 8 player requirements so we're now working on Challenges. It has been a laugh, even though I'm a crap driver but I've been distracted a lot when I play this game. angry
The problem is that for the challenges, up to 8 people can participate and when I play the game I get messages saying "Ah your playing Burnout?" "Can I join?" "I really want to get this game done" "Let me in". You know the drill.
This is great but it's starting to get to a point where, there is a limit. So I'll have to study this and see what the best solution is. compute

As I said earlier I am a crap driver because with some of the challenges, it's like "Right. What do I do here and what button do I use?" Also in the previous situation it took me 25 minutes to figure out how to do a bloody double-barrel-roll. facepalm

This one isn't running away from me neither since we've only progressed on it. But hopefully I'll have this one done soon enough.

And so another chapter in the book has been closed, since my progress with the online achievements is going on good for this month, I'll finish up my conversations now and I'll spare myself more time to get some more games done. laugh

Well I'll see you all in June. Take it easy. wave
