It's a lovely sunny day... well... f*****g hot to be precise = 33oc - 91F and whilst I could have been sitting out on the beach after work with a can of Coke. Or going to watch the Island Games that are on this week in Jersey... in the end I'm sweating like a pig, sitting on my fat arse in front of a Laptop... doing the monthly blog. Well... how good willing is that for me?
Well as some of you may know, this month I haven't commit myself to the XBox 360 as much as I should of, because I've been playing another game I recently got back from a work colleague who borrowed it (but never played it). And since then I've been hooked on it. So without further or-do, my game of the month for June 2015 is....
Super Smash Bros. Brawl No! It's not the game of the month because it's not an XBox 360 game, but I thought I'd place it in because it deserves an honorable mention. So I've had this game since around late 2008, but it seems to me that when someone borrows a game off me, I kind of miss it and I want it back in future. But when I did get it back it seems to have got to the point in which I can't stop playing the game... something I should have done around 7 years ago instead of leaving this game gather dust, which is something it truly doesn't deserve.
So if you don't know what Smash Bros. is about (you haven't lived to see much if you haven't), then these are games in which chosen Nintendo characters combine in an arena based in a video-game franchise and beat the crap out of each other. Blood is not allowed in Nintendo Exclusive games, so the idea in this game is as you take damage or deal damage on opponents, percentage at the bottom of the screen will increase. The higher the percentage, the more you or your opponent will go flying. Fly too far off the screen and you'll be eliminated. It all doesn't end though as you can do Time Matches, Live Matches and much more. Up to 4 people can fight with or against each other!
I had a bit of fresh air on this game as I had a session on a Friday in June which was s**t and I decided not to come on the XBox on Saturday. Played this game for around 15 hours total I say and I completed a single player game mode called Subspace Emissary. A brilliant storyline in which you have the Nintendo characters meeting up and on a quest to save the world from an evil force created by the Ancient Minister, the leader... Tabuu and Bowser, Wario & Gannondorf providing assistance to some extend.
You are treated to some fantastic CGI cutscenes in the Subspace Emissary as well. Here are 3 as an example...
I've also managed to finish all 41 Event Matches in Single Player Mode on the hardest difficulty. The last event... what a bitch. You alone VS Sonic The Hedgehog, Solid Snake & a Giant Mario! You all have 2 Lives each! I never really accuse the famous plumber so much, but Mario was a bastard to defeat as he just easily spams you!
Oh, did I just say Solid Snake and Sonic The Hedgehog? Yes it is true, I'm not bulls******g. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the first game in the series to introduce 3rd Party Video-Game characters and whilst Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid) was announced around the same time when the Smash Bros. Brawl trailer was revealed back in 2006, Sonic The Hedgehog was a big announcement as everyone wanted to have a 1-On-1 fight with Sonic The Hedgehog VS Mario... after 17 years of waiting!
I still have lots to do on this game, and I'll be using it whenever I get bored, fed up with the XBox 360 or want something to make me laugh at. Example... Wario shitting himself on the stage and flying up high into oblivion
Back to the blog itself. My Game Of The Month For June 2015 on XBox 360 is...
The Smurfs 2 AchievementsLet's just say that this game alone took me around 10 hours to complete. That alone is the winner because I yet to have another game which has managed to surpass that mark. This game has reached #1 for the month by the skin of it's teeth. But it will be a one-off as this game will never be re-played... again!
Picked this game up brand new at a really cheap price. And as I've got 2+ other kiddies games which are really like WTF, I thought oh well I just get this one to go with it. Now originally I wanted to spend 1 whole day on this game and get 1000G Gamerscore in a day. There are some games out their that allow you to do this and every now and then, I'd like to achieve all of the gamerscore... Arcade or Retail starting on the day I begin it and finishing it on the day I started it. Usually I like to try and do these features when it's my Birthday or at Christmas.
The problem I've had recently though is that I haven't had a quiet opportunity where I can just sit down by myself and play a game without any distraction. Why? Because I'm a nice guy, as soon as some friends see "BulgyDragonZord Is Online" --- You have message "What are you doing Bulgy?" ---- "Bulgy you twat, I want a word with you!" --- "Oi fat-so, get in the party!" --- Or I just get a random party invite which I've got to attend or else I get the fear that I'll have one less person on my friend list!
So when I did have this day I started the game and played away, and then 45 minutes into The Smurfs 2 with some achievement unlocked... Party Invite! Doh!!
I then decided f**k it, I can't get 1000G on this game in a day and it's already 6pm now, so I played away and then I resumed and finished it off the next day!
It's actually a not bad game, the graphics are detailed, the game-play is simple and if your familiar with playing Mario & Sonic platform games, then you will realize this game will bring you back to the old gaming world... except that this is way easier to complete. The only drawback on this though is that once you have completed the game and you have to replay the levels, you always ask yourself the question "Urrgghh... do I have to do this level again". On top of that you also get...
Other Popular Games Of The Month...2nd Place...Project Gotham Racing 3 AchievementsHaving already got the online achievements for this game done, the reason that this game is in the charts is because I helped a friend get the "Online Professional" achievement done on this game. Whilst he hasn't got it yet, the progress towards this achievement should now be slightly easier.
PGR 3 was one of the first games I got with the XBox 360 along with Gears Of War and some Arcade Games. I started playing the game back in 2007 but then I put it aside as I didn't enjoy it. I decided to start it again in 2011 and when I did get round to playing it... some achievements we're discontinued (Tournaments). Annoyed by this I went on PGR 4 straight away and started playing on that game too. PGR 4 is way better than PGR 3 as it's more inviting with the new features such as Motorbikes, Weather Conditions and different tracks.
This one however is a pain. I haven't got many of the difficulty achievements done, because it is very difficult to do. Many people believe this is one of or if not the hardest XBox 360 game to get all of the difficulty achievements done on.
Going back to the online side though, I set up 2 sessions with my friend and a group of people wanting the "Online Professional" achievement. It's a nightmare to do because you have to get a win in each of the game modes. There are 8 and most of them need 4 people in the lobby to start. The trouble with this game is that the servers are not great as some people cannot connect to each other due to region, connectivity, online structure and what level ranking you are.
Originally we planned the session for 4 hours just to get the game modes completed for everyone. It took us 5hr 30m+ and that was just for 6 people (I didn't need it). But that alone is very impressive as that requirement alone could take you around 10+ hours to do originally.
I don't think you'll see this game on the list anytime soon in this collection as I believe the next time I try to add this game to the charts is when I want to get all of the remaining achievements I can go for in the game.
3rd Place...Forza Horizon AchievementsAs I tend to play my Forza games, it was only a matter of time before Forza Horizon would be added to the collection. One of my friends decided to play the game due to suffering from boredom on Forza Motorsport 4 and he wanted me to play along with him.
At first I wasn't sure of the game as I didn't like the fact that in order for you to play online with your friends, you've got to progress in the campaign. Then I had the fear in which ouu is everything still obtainable in this game or not?
Eventually after I put myself into dedication on this game, we paired up and got some achievements done in the game. I'll strongly praise the fact that you can get all of the online achievements done on this game, with a partner... and some on your own as well!
The setup and the environment on this game is really good. As you can tell, most of the events are placed in Racing Festivals with some of the latest music from Radio Stations broadcasted in the game! It's like going for a gig and a race at the same time!
I don't know if you would be satisfied though if you get drunk and do the above whilst your on this game as well! Hmmm?
Whilst I have done the online side of this game, beside the achievements I need to do on my own. I've still got a bit of work to do before I can say this games done. I'll likely try and commit myself on the other Forza Motorsport games first, so don't expect to see this game re-appear for awhile neither.
EndingWell... I've tried to make this blog as funny and entertaining as possible as you can tell. But I've reached the point where all that has to end for a month. Now sadly I regret to tell you that choosing my future games for these monthly blogs will start to get tricky throughout now and the rest of the year. The reasons is because July and August = Summer = F*****g hot! = XBox 360 = F*****g hot! My XBox 360 Elite has this one problem = After leaving it on for a long while it starts to get hot and if I'm using my dummy account for awhile, that gets hot too. So for this year, instead of suffering in my bedroom with 2 Overheated XBox 360's and Mosquito's. I want to try and cut down the amount of times I play really late at night on the console to avoid this issue I get!
The other reason is I'll be starting another Christmas DVD for my family at the end of August. Last DVD I truly did began in October of that year and I ran out of time as I still trying to burn the program on the DVD Disc on Christmas Eve. I was up until 2:30am on Christmas Day finishing it off and I needed to be up at 6am that day as well. I had to help my mum carry a 10LB Turkey and put it in the oven. About 5 hours that beast took to cook!
Anyway that's enough of Games, Smash Bros, Smurfs, PGR, Christmas etc. I'm going to shit myself for a month and I'll see you in August
WWWWAAAFFFFTTT!!!!!
