Hey everyone. So this is the first blog I've ever written. I was planning on writing a blog today but now I actually have a reason.
We could call this the road to Seriously...
I just unlocked Seriously... An achievement that I never really thought I would go for.
I started Gears of War back on January 12th 2007. I missed it right when it came out but picked up the collectors edition after the holidays. I completed the game (on insane, co op and collecting all of the cog tags) on January 16th. I guess I had a really good partner because I remember hearing a lot of my friends struggle with it at certain points in the past year.
Back then I had no idea what boosting was and I played a way that most people (including myself) haven't heard of... legit.
I earned:
Don't Hate the Player
Mix It Up
Around the World
Can't Touch Me
It's a Massacre
and A Series of Tubes.
All legit and on my own. I'm not bragging, it's just weird to think of a time when boosting wasn't one of my first thoughts when it comes to online achievements.
After that I didn't play the game again until November 30th 2010.
I started going for Weapons and Revives (oh what fun) with a great group of people:

and in one of my last weapons sessions, Matrarch, The 218er and Bears Scare Me.
I had finished all but two weapons by the end of February, one more in April and then grenade tags after I started getting close to Seriously in mid October.
"The Original Six" as they are affectionately known around this group decided to start on Seriously on February 28th 2011. I wasn't able to make the time commitment that was needed back then. I also had a lot of crap going on during those months so it's a good thing I didn't end up starting then. I put it on the back burner (waaaayyyy back) and didn't figure I would ever go for it.
Months and months down the road they all started popping it. And it was on August 3rd 2011 that I decided I would try for Seriously. Don't ask me why, I seriously (ahhh!) don't know. I joined a session with Matrarch, Beavis XBL, NikiBaby219, NinjaDave04, GameTagwastaken, DUDE2386 and Master Chiefing.
Matrarch and NinjaDave were very close to getting Seriously so I was sort of joining in to fill spots (Matrarch popped it that night and NinjaDave was soon after. I was there when each of them unlocked it and it sort of set something off inside me saying "hey, this is possible").
After that the rest is history. I did a few suicide matches to get started and then I joined The 218er and Bears Scare Me in the double, triple, triple box method. We played once a week at first and then made it up to twice a week. We also had GameTagwastaken but he wasn't a part of my earlier sessions until The 218er unlocked it. Then Bears unlocked it and I played with GameTag, Das Khunen, Redodua and Toad.
Well I didn't keep as good of track of my stats as 218er and Bears but according to Raptr, I put 89 hours into this. Not bad compared to a lot of people. I unlocked it at 13,006 kills. The best part about the whole thing is that I unlocked at the same time as my partner GameTag. I believe he was at 12,445. But for both of us to unlock it at the same time? Amazing.
So there it is, the long road to Seriously. I want to thank each and every person who helped me along the way. This blog is sort of a thank you card to everyone who helped, even if we aren't friends on here or you never read this, I still appreciate each and every one of you. I have named most of the people that helped but here are a few more who I played with and want to list even though I'm sure they won't see this:
