You know what would REALLY make them worth it in addition to what they already offer? If they had a separate download that enabled one to play online without the singleplayer stuff and the disk. Campaign co-op would be out, but stuff like horde and special-ops would be in.
This occurs to me, because I'm downloading the 'Multiplayer update #3' for Battlefield 3 as I type this and Battlelog is going down for maintenance soon. Not to mention this just came out as well

I got the 'limited' edition when it came out at a time when I literally had no money. Basically, now I'm just wondering what the Battlefield service has to offer me and that's when the light bulb went off.
And of course, I'm still mulling over the future of the Halo franchise and how it seems to have plotted a direct course to follow in Gears footsteps.
Not to mention the broader implications of my willingness to be a console gamer in the future or not.
(The download has finished and yes, indeed, the 'Premium' service is there in the main menu of BF3.)
