I’ll do what I need to, no more.
Yesterday one of my fellow control room operators asked me how I was finding the whole Olympic working. I shrugged in response, I didn’t know what he expected me say. He replied that he loved the buzz. I was taken back, I hadn’t noticed to be honest.
Any buzz I had has been taken out of me over the last few days. You see I’ve been the event control room operator all week. The job is what it says, I’m dealing with all things Olympic related while the other control room operator does his normal duties. The thing is the other guy just won’t stop interfering, he wants to rule the roost & I can’t be arsed to get into it with him.
I don’t care who does the event side, I actually would prefer to not do it as all I want to do is my normal job but he does. This billy-big-bollocks behaviour is something I don’t enjoy, I said before the Games started that ego’s would be a problem & low & behold here it is!
So with all of this in mind I turned to the fella yesterday & said “Insert name here, do you want be the event guy tomorrow?” His eyes lit up, the excitement was clear! He would be boss man & get to tell people what to do (please note – I did none of this because this is not part of the duties but some others like to be boss). So his reply was “yeah, sure, whatever you want to do”.
So today I’m the operational control room operator & I’m a happy lad!
Day off tomorrow! Oh yeah!

We did some food shopping last night & while walking down the meat aisle I found this:
Processed sandwich meat to appeal to the girl in me! I wanted it so bad but Lou said no…
She made me turn it over & showed me why I can’t buy it. Turns out, this made me want it more even if it does look nasty!

Love & Hate – A rock & heavy metal A-Z
Love – T is for TurisasOne of my all-time favourite bands, when I first heard them I thought they were a joke band. After all they look like this:
The content of the music though made me take them seriously. I hadn’t really listened to much music with that folk tinge. It was new to me & I loved it. The way Turisas have developed over the years is the most pleasing thing. They have told a story throughout their albums & grown up so much, where they go from here, who knows but I can’t wait to find out! Pity about that freaking Rasputin cover….
However the T was almost Tool…. I love Tool so much!
Hate – T is for The Tenacious DJack Black’s band. They did that song with Dave Grohl dressed as a devil. They also did a song about having sex….. ho hum.

I’ve been putting some thought into what to do once the A-Z ends; I’ve enjoyed doing it & sharing my music with you. With just U, V, W, X, Y & Z to go it will be done by next week & I will have a sad face.
I want to continue a section that is just about music, a combination of new album reviews & history. I’ve taken to buying albums almost weekly on ITunes & I want to take some recommendations for new music to listen to (as long as it remains in my general taste area).

I couldn’t hit it on the number in the end as I unlocked 4 achievements at once in
Gears of War 3.
I finally unlocked my 1st Onyx medal! Only a bazillion more to go!
A couple more levels done in
Monsters vs. Aliens. I’m now at 16/25 levels complete & it’s getting a bit harder now. I actually died
& I’m now at 1/10 deaths.
Lastly I jumped on
Transformers: War For Cybertron & re-played a few levels unlocking these 2 bad boys:

Today marks the start of a new, month long header competition exactly like the last. A cryptic clue will form the header above. It will relate to a game, it is up to you to decipher the clue & tell me the game to gain a point. The rules are simple:
• 1 answer per person, first answer accepted only.
• PM only – don’t leave your answer in the comments.
• It runs from 1st August until the 31st August. Check back every weekday for a new header.
• Anyone can join, you don’t have to be my friend or follow my blog!

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee The first part was to pint you in the direction of the very first game. Maybe you recognise some of these sounds?
To save Abe’s fellow people you would have to greet them & get them to follow you as long as there were no traps. If there was baddies? Tell them to work! Abe’s major weapon was the ability to use mind-control.
