Story:
I'm not going to give a history lesson, but their are 3 campaigns that you follow. This is a WWII First Person Shooter(FPS). You follow a United States campaign, a British campaign, and a Russian campaign as well. Each campaign is broken into missions, and each mission is broken into chapters.

Gameplay:
Gameplay is simple to learn. The control scheme is very similar to all FPS. Also it is exactly the same as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare(Not sure about World at War, I have yet to play it).

The gun fights are very fun. There is no cover system, but you can still go prone(lie down) to go behind cover. This game can seem a little repetitive, but not too repetitive. Infinity Ward did a good job of mixing it up a little bit so it is not all the same, but it still seems that all you do is go here kill that, defend point, or blow that up, which is still very fun, but slightly repetitive.

Graphics/Sound/Music:
The graphics are very good considering the fact it came out the same time as the Xbox360. However compared to games that are more recent this game doesn't compare.

The sound effects are very good. They make it seem like you are actually in WWII. You here every little explosion, every bullet whizzing past you. You also here your team yelling for help, and the Germans yelling in German(I have no clue what they are saying).

Value:
The value is very good. You can find this game very cheap in most stores. You can get it for 20$ or under. The game is definitely worth the buy if you are looking for a good single player experience. for a weekend or longer depending if you play on Veteran or not. The game is fairly short, but if you go for the achievements then it definitely extends the gameplay, and the achievements are fun to go for.

Achievements:
This definitely a game that is maxable. All it takes is a little patience and a lot of deaths. You have to beat each mission on veteran for an achievement, 1 achievement per mission. Also you get 50 points for the tutorial, 150 for completing the game, and 200 for beating it on hardened or veteran. I recommend playing 1 playthrough on easy. Then start doing missions on veteran, and whatever missions you can't do on veteran beat those missions on hardened difficulty(1 below Veteran). I all It is probably in easy 600-700 points and a doable 1000 points.

I will be the first to admit that I am not much of a first-person shooter fan...but when the game is done right? Well, then it becomes as deep and immersive as any RPG. After all, when the environment is crafted in such a way as to deliver an experience of absolute authenticity, you are, in a sense, playing a role. Few other FPS games fill that role better than Call of Duty 2.

Even today, COD2 is my go-to fix for World War II action. The attention to detail in the environments, weapons, uniforms...all of it just transports you back in time to one of the world's most brutal and important conflicts; it is at once sobering and moving to take part in the struggle for freedom against the fascist armies of Nazi Germany, and no other game delivers that experience with such nerve-shattering realism than COD2.

I found myself upping the difficulty the more I played, wanting a more realistic experience, the penalty for being shot even once often lethal...and rather than become frustrated with the game, it actually urged me onward, until finally, I had crossed the Rhine into Germany and completed what had to have been one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I have had to date.

Even if you do not normally play FPS games, there is something about the respect that Infinity Ward paid to the conflict that sets it apart from more "arcade-y" shooters like Medal of Honor. I could not help but imagine myself in my players shoes, which made me fight all that much harder, and really get a feel for just how awesome the price was paid by so many during WWII.

I never thought I would say it, but a First Person Shooter is actually in my gaming top-ten.
