INTRO
I know a lot of people say why Open Season. I enjoyed the movie and found this game on sale. There are two reasons why I got this game, first off it was cheap and for the achievement points. The story of this game is about a domesticated bear that finds himself back in the woods and helps the other animals in the forest against hunters during hunting season .

Game play:
The game is more like a lot of solo mini games blended together to make a whole game. They range from walking around and throwing things to finding objects. There is a form of driving involved but nothing strays from the walking around part. There are some parts that are funny like shooting squirrels at hunters.

Graphics:
Decent, not too many ways to draw trees in a forest or animals that reside there. It is not choppy or blocky but not fluidly smooth either with wind blowing the hair like other games.

Sound and Music:
The music usually switches from mini game to mini game. The sounds are what animals make but nothing that stand out.

Difficulty:
There is not difficulty setting. This makes the game very easy. If you finish a level and want to redo to get all the hidden points it available after you finish it once. The games and or puzzles are not that hard.

Final Thoughts:
This game is meant for younger players. If you looking for a long adventure this is not one of them. Replay value is low, once finished I highly doubt you will want to play again. Also there are no multi player or co-op options.

Hi.
I figured I'd put in my two cents for this one.
Open season. It's a game based on a movie. If you've never played a game based off a movie...you're fine that way. In general, they aren't very good since the name sells the game anyway.

I got this game in a "charity bundle" for $20 (Came with Fusion Frenzy 2 and Cars). I'm notorious for loving simple "childish" video games, finding their simplicity rather enjoyable over the competitive and complex games.

That being said, this game is nothing to get excited about.

Gameplay:
You're a bear. You know the story. If you don't, you were domesticated, now you're not, gotta find your way home, hunters after you because it is "open season". The game is basically a group of minigames placed together. You'll be walking around everywhere, completing mini-missions (Find some baby skunks, Shoot squirrels around, etc). You'll ride in a mine cart, you'll sit in the back of a car, yada-yada, it all comes back to walking around through a forest. There are collectibles to get as you play as well.

Graphics:
Absolutely nothing special. They are pretty unnoticeable though since it is a "cute" movie based game, so you just kinda take the characters how they look as how they look. There is only so many ways to draw trees anyway. There's a couple close ups when you throw squirrels on hunter faces which are kinda horrible, but oh well. The cutscenes are basically just the regular game's graphics, slightly improved. But honestly, the game isn't about graphics, so no worries.

Sound:
You won't really notice it that much. Cute animal sounds. Some animals talk to you. It changes based on level. Nothing special, nothing wrong with it. It gets kind of disappointing that you don't have too catchy a tune to listen to, and by halfway through I was playing my music from my computer for the most part.

Achievements:
Ridiculously easy. If you have a guide with you you can 100% this game in about 3 hours, 2 if you're better at paying attention than me. They are mostly complete the level doing everything achievements and complete all the collections (which are easy to find, not like Assassin's creed flags or anything, I promise). If you're looking for a quick 1000/1000, pick this guy up.

Price:
Ridiculously cheap. For the amount you are going to spend for this game, maybe it's worth picking up. But then again, there is a reason cheap games are cheap...

Other notes:
No difficulty level ability changes make the game a one time play through, maybe two if you have the mind of a simple video game lover. You can go back and replay levels if you missed some collectibles. Game does well at explaining each "ability" located in each level of the game, which is nice. Loading times are a little longer than what you would expect for such simple graphics, about 45 seconds between each level.

Final Score:
2/5. It's really nice in that the achievements are easy, the price is good, and the gameplay is simple. It's unfortunate in that you wont want to play it more than once (twice at a maximum) and there is no difficulty selection. It isn't a groundbreaking game, but it might be worth a playthrough.
