This is a review of the german version of the darkness and this game was great fun and thought it deserved a review because no-one seemed to wright one for this version.
Right to start off the german version just means the cut version of the game, and between the cut version and the un-cut version the only thing "cut" out of the game is there is literally no blood and no gore. However the game works perfectly fine without this feature.
The Darkness was a new style first person shooter where the player had the abilities of the darkness, which got stronger as you progress through the game. You start off with the simple ability of creeping death and later you receive a demon arm, a black hole and the darkness guns each with their own unique and interesting abilities. However the one downside to a power is the demon arm but due to the fact that the game has cut out blood and gore, when you hit an enemy with the demon arm they just fall over dead however when it comes the un-cut version you impale them with the arm instead, this is one of the two differences between the two versions of the game.
During gameplay you receive more power by, in the cut version, devouring peoples souls. This is quite cool in my opinion however the reason it is flawed is that it is the same action you do when you devour peoples hearts in the un-cut version. The two darkness heads fight over nothing in the cut version and it looks quite poor and lazy by the programmers to be honest as it is the same action and they could have at least changed since they removed the gore.
The game has an awesome gripping story which will keep you hooked. Great fun game to play, comes with a separate 1000 gamerscore which is a bonus to earn the achievements twice  .
The multiplayer however is awful and has its owns servers from the rest of the world but the achievements are easily boosted.
Overall it is a fun game with very little stuff been cut out, and the game retains its fun factor and replay-ability. 4/5 due to no gore but the game is great fun.
