After a couple consecutive letdowns, EA finally got golf right again. Instead of clawing your way to the top after starting with a zero-skill golfer, series veterans and newcomers alike can jump in and be evaluated on their own skills, and watch their ratings dynamically adjust after each round they play.
While the challenge level is a little lower, the fun factor is much higher and the frustration that dampened the previous two years' installments is nowhere yet to be found.
The Tiger Challenge has been restructured to a more streamlined form with a better sense of progression. And unlike last year's version, you don't feel the need to complete the Tiger Challenge before your skills are sufficient to face the field in the PGA Tour season.
It's also a huge breakthrough to be able to play a four-person round in about as much time as a single-player round. Simultaneous play is a huge addition to this year's title.
