PROS: 1. Enhanced Gameplay 2. 2k HD 3. Realistic Players 4. More Online Game Modes 5. Custom Roster and Game Slider Upload/Download Feature
CONS: 1. Annoying Commentators (Particularly Dunk Contest Host) 2. Achievements are not that Challenging
To start off, I like this game far more than NBA LIVE 09. NBA LIVE 09 doesn't have that feel that 2k9 has. Anyways, one of the great things about this game is the enhanced gameplay and trademark shot styles. That amazing Kobe Bryant shot take is definately the closest to his real one and they did an excellent job. All the players shot take and free throw attempts are spectacular. The 2k9 team put in 2k HD, which basically means thw game your playing is goin to look so real that you will think that it is actually real. My Favorite thing about this game is the realism of the players. The real picture of our cover guy, Kevin Garnett, is identical to the player in the game. All the facial features are properly placed on all the player with the exception of a few. One of the things I'm glad for is the ability to play in different game modes Online. For example, If you were feeling Dunk Contest, go to "Custom Ranked Games" and click on "Dunk Contest". If you feeling something more original like the good ol' 1 on 1 game, that is also accesible. The new "Team-Up" mode brings up to 10 players in one game and assigns them to either team and position. They have to stay as the same position the whole game. And the best part is you could be able to change your player in-game. For example, Hornets vs. Blazers and your on the Blazers and your are Center. You can choose other player that are center and subsitute them with whoevers in. So Instead of being Greg Oden, you can be Jospeh Pryzbilla. You also have the ability to upload and download custom rosters and game silders, which is cool because you can use them Online in a game ( Only in a Player Match though).
One of things I hate about the game is the commentators. Man are they annoying!!! Especially the Dunk Contest Host. Over and over he says the same thing and his voice is irritating. Another thing I Hate is that the achievements for this game are extremely easy (except for a few Online ones's) Most of them are either a player achievement or a match-up achievement. Personally, I don't care but I like a little challenge sometimes.
To sum up, NBA 2K9 is definately a must buy. 5/5 stars!!! Can't wait for 2K10 to come out. I will be writing a review for 2K10 when it comes out. Thank You For Reading This Review Of NBA 2K9.
