There is no joy in this game what so ever! My recommendation is to avoid it entirely. With a 60$ price tag you'd expect something with great graphics, snappy ai, and awesome third person gun-play. Truth of the matter is that the graphics are mushy and dull, the ai as dull as a civil war era nail, and the gun-play utterly unsatisfying.
Graphics are generally flat and fuzzy, textures often taking a second or two to render as you approach them. The frame rate is sluggish and chunky. Over-all look and design of environments is average at best, and often very repetitive. Character design is sub-standard and in the case of the one female companion character - cliché (in that she is large breasted and scantily clad when everybody else seems over dressed for the apparent hot climate.)
Gameplay is dull and repetitive. You'll find yourself running to one ghost town or mining town after another where the objective is to make your way to the very top by wall jumping, shimmying poles and ropes and jumping from roof to balcony, only to arrive at some elevator shaft or industrial sliding door you have to open in order to activate the next level. These emmencely large and tedious gauntlets are occupied by various badies that just stand there waiting to be shot. Which apparently takes about 20 rounds from a machine gun or your useless pistol, and they simply just fall where they stand. There is no satisfaction in any of the weapons save for the occasional exploding body when using the shot gun. Some weapons sound cool but are completely useless such as the railway spike gun which shoots one spike at a time and takes an eternity to reload, all the while you're taking hits from impossibly far distances while your two allies stand right out in the open and shoot randomly in the direction of enemy fire. I found the sound in this game to be the most annoying and trying of anything I've ever played. All the gun fire sounds are basically the same so when you get into a really big gun fight it just comes out as static noise. The voice acting is terrible, and when one of you allies is injured they repeat the phrase "I'm not doing so well" until you revive them. Often during the end of each level, your allies will start talking to you as though you're standing next to them but your not even close.
I didn't even bother with the co-op aspect of this game, but judging by the single player mode it doesn't look like I'll waste my time.
As for the achievement hunters out there, this games chievos are mostly geared toward co-op playing and the ones that can be gotten in single player mode will take a long time to gain, and hardly feel worth the effort when you look at them. For example the Sniper (20): get 20 headshots? You have no control over which body part you target, like in Fable II, in this game it's random. When you equip the sniper rifle there is no looking through the scope it works like all other weapons in the game, just move the cross hairs around. Or how 'bout Explosive Expert (30): Kill 3 players at once with Trip Mines in a Ranked Multiplayer Match!?! What three people walk around together in multi-player? No wonder TA has it at 110pts
anyway this has turned into a rant, so I'll rap it up.

Damnation - When I heard about Damnation I was like WOW!Something different, Western Genre with a touch of Gears of War about it.
I put it on my rentals list, am I happy about it? Yes!
It is one of the worst games that I have put into my 360, it's buggy as hell!
I can't quite understand why developers expect their customers to pay £39.99 for a bag of bugs! lol
Let me get straight to the point, the game play is so annoying.
I shoot but the enemy doesn't want to get out of the way before I kill them. If they do try to get away then they just spin around in circles, if they have not disappeared, or just ignored me as if I wasn't there. Sometimes they would be shooting at my pal and just didn't acknowledge me. (?)
Sometimes I came across enemies that just disappear into thin air, which is not good, considering I lined a perfect shot to their head, no cover system, what where they thinking.
The controls are easy enough to get use to but trying to use them with different objects just didn't work. Jumping didn't work all the time and when it did it was OK. So game play was annoying yet worked well at times.
Shooting for me was the most disgraceful thing I have come across in a video game to date, it just didn't feel like a Gears of War that I am use to.
Not forgetting when I was getting shot at I would then reload but couldn't move because I didn't have the capability to do two things at once, at least with other shooters I was allowed to.
Driving was OK but didn't feel right, the graphics were awful. The fire that would come out at the back end of the vehicle was I can't even explain what it was because it was that bad. I think it was meant to resemble fire, if I'm not mistaken.
The only decent thing I found about the game was the story line, it was so easy to get into and the in-game cut scenes were alright, sometimes.
I did however encounter something that annoyed me e.g. a cut scene was just about to happen when I would see a person in the middle of a blacked out screen, this REALLY got on my nerves.
Overall:-
So Blue Omega built their first game to set the market and have basically killed of any chance on any more future release. If however they do however put another title together it will have to be the best, because all I can say about their first attempt is to spend more time and not just put a game on the market that is FLAWED TO ****!
Game play - Too many bugs, flaws whatever you want to call them.
Graphics - OK, with nice looking cut scenes. (apart from the fire to the vehicle/buildings). Lasting Appeal - Low, I played the campaign and already sent it back.
4/10, could have been so much better if they put more time into it, not worth the cash, but I rented it, happy I only rented it. Could have been worse, I suppose.
It may have sounded as though I was ranting, but I like many gamers want to know the truth and in this case the truth is, Damnation was never really what we all anticipated!

Damnation...What the developers of this game should be sentenced to.
The game carries a standard campaign mode and multiplayer versus modes. Good news! The campaign can be done in cooperative mode!
I personally played this game with three friends, aiming to boost the achievements. We achieved all of the achievements with relative ease, but we paid the price for it. The mother of all depressions sank in, the will to game was almost lost and we wanted to destroy Codemasters for publishing this monster.
The campagin to Damnation was lousy and an absolute bore. Highlight of my playthrough on cooperative campain? Diving through windows and accidentally dieing. Can't say I blame the character, the game was truly terrible.
Graphics. This game has terrible graphics, it's really just foul. I don't think they bothered with graphics, they must have skipped that part.
Multiplayer. The online community for this game is dead and buried, so matching up with friends is easy. You need 4 people to get a lobby going. There are various multiplayer modes, deathamtch, team deathmatch, capture the flag and so on. The online is bad, just like the campaign and the game in general.
You may feel my review is being really harsh and giving no credit to the publisher or developers, but I'm not the only one. Damnation rocked the ratings at Metacritic.com with a measly 36. Damnation rang in with a nice 2.5 on ign.com, this game should really, I mean really be avoided.
Only one positive can be dragged from this car crash of a game, achievements. It's by no means Avatar, but nevertheless the achievement list is relatively simple and stress free. After suffering the campagin, the multiplayer can feel like a chore. The achievements don't add much of a positive to a poor game, but if you want an easy 1000G, then this could be the game for you.
To sum up this review, avoid this game. It's terrible. Although it should be very cheap in the current day, it's not worth a penny! This game is soul killing.
Overall scores:
Gameplay: 3/10 (Feels like a chore.) Multiplayer: 4/10 (+1 as it's easy to match up.) Graphics: 1/10 Achievements: 7/10.
This review is based on my own personal opinions.
