Ok, so bear with me here as this is my first ever review... Please be critical if needed so I know what I can improve on in the future, but not too mean as I do have feelings too, lol. laugh ... Anyway, here we go..

I have never seen this television show nor have I played the first installment of this game so I can not reference or comment on either. Also, I am typing this up as I finish the game. But it is pretty much all the same and pretty sure nothing special happens when you finish(except 1000GS wink). But if it does I will add it to the bottom.

All in all I give this game 2 out of 5 stars. Mostly, because it was a fairly easy 1000GS. In the beginning I was somewhat excited because it was a new game I never played, but after a while of playing (which was not long at all) this game became very mindnumbingly, banging my head on the wall, wanting to be finished with it, repetitive...

Gameplay:
The campaign, in which you play to get all the achievements, is consistent of multiple "seasons". Most seasons have names as the title, goals in which you must accomplish to beat it in a certain number of days, and consist of only one season. There are a couple that have more than one season to play through to get the goal. Most of the seasons have pretty much the same goals, i.e. catch the most crab, make the most money, or make a certain amount of money. (catching the most crab and making the most money in my opinion would be considered the same thing because you have to catch more crabs than anyone else to sell and make more money then them, so I guess they just named it different so it would seem different, ITS NOT). Also gameplay consists of buying a boat first, then picking a certain number of crew members, sailing to certain spots in the ocean in which you choose and hope has a lot of crabs, "setting pots", waiting and them, "retrieving" these pots, and "sorting" the crab. Then finally sailing back to port and "offloading" your crabs. All done in minigames. Every now and then your boat breaks down so you have to fix it which is considered "patching" it which is also a minigame. So 5 different minigames in all that are done throughout play to complete this game and goals. WARNING: THESE MINIGAMES GET VERY VERY REPETITIVE! This is the wall banging repetitiveness that I mentioned earlier. I will say this game has taken me a few days to finish. Mostly because I have a job, baseball practice, and sometimes I just had to switch to another game just because I got tired of it.

Visual/Graphics:
The graphics were ok. I would also have to say 2 out of 5 stars for this. They are what you would expect for a crab fishing game I guess. Nothing special at all. Of course I don't think special graphics or anything would have made this game any better.

Sound/music:
This recieves 1 out of 5 stars. It is pretty much the same music and sayings over and over again. After a while I turned volume down and just played my own music. Any special instructions that is said also shows up as text for you to read.

Replayablity:
NO! NEVER AGAIN!

Overall:
Pretty much the same tasks over and over again. But a fairly easy 1000GS if you keep playing it all the way through. If your looking for a fun game then this is not the one. If your looking for easy 1000GS then by all means grab it, but only if it is a rental or extremely cheap price. (also, nothing special happens at the end. lol)

There you have it folks. My first review. Criticize away. lol wave

As a fan of the show, I held high hopes for this game as the second to come out under the series name. Of course I didn't expect Gears of War or Dead Space quality in it, I had hoped it would prove to be better than the first Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm. I was sadly wrong.

Deadliest Catch: Sea of Chaos is played through 5 mini-games: set, retrieve, sort, offload, and patch. You have a string meter for each mini-game that will give you time or money bonuses as it gets high. Placing a pot in the wrong spot, missing a throw, sorting the crab to the wrong side, or hitting a swinging crane while attempting to fill a brailer will all stop your streak dead in its tracks thus making whatever you are doing at the moment less efficient. Gamers who have played the first game know it to be slightly more on the simulation side of the aisle while Sea of Chaos is most definitely the arcade side.

The overall gameplay is a fairly fun experience although a bit repetitive. The graphics are decent given that this is a budget title being produced by the Discovery Channel. I would have been happier with this having been an Xbox Live Arcade title, but I won't complain too much on the subject of price since I traded my way down to an 11 dollar price tag.

If you want a quick 1000 gamerscore then this title will make you very happy. 2 days of playing and I have gotten 14 out of 17 achievements already. Fans of the show will probably want to pick this up as a rental or wait until the price drops down a good bit more before locking themselves into a fairly shallow, but fun, experience.
