Battery packs for Xbox 360 - what's going on?
There was a time not so long ago that you could buy official Microsoft battery packs for the Xbox 360 controller on their own, now you can't seem to do this anymore - except in the states where you can buy a twin pack. Yet Microsoft sell their Quick charge kit which can charge two batteries and only comes with one, is it just me or does this make no sense at all?

Now it's been even longer...
Yep this year like so many recently has just flown by, my last blog post - my second ever in fact - was all the way back in February.
Well since I last "blogged" or posted an update here, I've been fortunate to play some pretty good games, for me this year I think the highlight so far has been Max Payne 3, a truly excellent effort from my friends at Rockstar Games.
More recently though I read about an Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) game on Gamespot, which had a really great review - its name? Mark Of The Ninja.
If you like Ninjas - and who doesn't right? - then this game places you firmly into the shadows of the Ninja.
Now I've been gaming on Xbox 360 since its release and I've never really bothered with XBLA content before, I guess it's due to the fact that I always generally play "retail" releases, but I'm so glad I came across this game - it really is a joy to play.
At first glance you may think it looks a little old school, and you'd be right, it takes you back to the days of the side-scrolling platform game, but this game is the perfect reason not to judge a game by how it looks, as the gameplay - and this is the reason we should all play games - is fantastic.
Your character is very stealthy with the ability to hide behind doors, climb walls, hang from ceilings, dispose of dead bodies, with lots of great cell shaded stealth kills.
As you progress through the game you unlock various moves and ninja items, which are broken down in to distraction items and attack items. It all adds up to making your character even more kick ass than he was at the start of the game - the game itself reminds me a little of the original prince of persia game, with a Ninja as the main character.
Anyway, don't take my word for it. Get yourself to XBLA now and download the trial version and see for yourself... You'll be glad you did.

It's been a while...
Okay, well it's been a while since my first blog post, namely because shortly after making my first post I had the cold/flu virus from hell and was literally in bed for the best part of two weeks, and in no condition to play any games at all.
I did however manage to get the remaining achievements in WWE All Stars shortly after making my first blog post - great eh?
I then went on to Crysis 2 to see if the Dedication achievement was now unlocking after my 6 months plus (more like 8 or 9 months) time since first playing the game online but guess what? Still no joy, I have a small number of other achievements to get on this, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'll get screwed on those as well, so I've kinda given up on this one for the time being.
I then went back to one of my all time favourite games The Darkness, which I haven't played since completing it back in 2007, but I had a few achievements remaining there, the longest of which was 'The Don' winning or being on the winning team in 250 online matches, but this I'm pleased to say has now been done as well.
Had another quick go on Crysis 2 on Tuesday 7th Feb and still no joy with the Dedication achievement.
I'm now taking a bit of a break from FPS and have started playing one of the games I got for Christmas, Driver San Francisco and I have to say I'm very pleased with it thus far, although I can't seem to get the drifting down to well just yet.
Well I'm off, it's getting late and I've work in the morning - yawn - so until next time....
