Two More Call of Duty: MW3 DLC Packs Detailed

The final DLC packs are just around the corner

Written by ButterflyEdge on 03 August 12 at 13:36

The final two DLC packs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 were detailed today. These will come in the shape of Collection #3: Chaos Pack and Collection #4: Final Assault. These packs will offer more Spec Ops missions and new multiplayer maps respectively:

Chaos Pack - 1200 MSP
The Chaos Pack drops a combat-heavy care package of Special Ops Chaos mode, 4 new Special Ops missions, and 3 FACE OFF maps for the ultimate trifecta in solo and co-op gameplay. High-altitude Special Ops challenges put tactical skills to the test, with players navigating armed drones above a Russian destroyer and evading RPGs from the roof of a helicopter-swarmed hotel. Upping the ante further, FACE OFF firefights pit players head-to-head on a six-lane stretch of desert highway, at an abandoned crossroads near a New York overpass, and near the path of a violent tornado.

A whole new way to play Call of Duty, Special Ops Chaos mode delivers the ultimate in arcade mayhem. Experience truly heart-pounding and adrenaline-fueled action while competing for high scores in Resistance, Village, Underground and Dome. Chain kills together against a never-ending onslaught of enemies to increase your combo multiplier and earn performance enhancing perks. Choose your route through each map to optimize weapon pickups, attack, and escape options. Play solo, split screen or online with a friend to take out as many enemies as possible before they take you down or the clock hits zero.
Final Assault - 1200 MSP
The fourth and final DLC collection deploys with five all-new Multiplayer Maps. Surrounded by mountains, "Gulch" sends combatants into a forgotten mining town with only mine shafts and equipment sheds for cover. The Jersey coast awaits in "Boardwalk," where fun in the sun means facing enemies on the beach. Players must earn their sea legs on "Off shore" and "Decommission," where deadly oceanic oilrigs and a maze of rotting ocean liners provide the perfect setting for shoreline-based combat. Rounding out the collection is a trip to New Orleans' war-torn French Quarter, where "Parish" pits players against one another amidst the city's rubble. For you normal gamers out there, Collection #3: Chaos Pack is available on the 9th of August and Collection #4: Final Assault will release on the 6th of September.

For Elite members, the DLC packs are free and the Chaos Pack will be available on the 7th of August, and Final Assault on the 5th of September.

COD DLC is always over price. Should be 800 MSP at most.
SoiledDoughnut - So they've added a limited time only variation of TDM to Black Ops 2 where you get 150 pts per kill instead of 100 pts.

Dang if you get all four dlc it would be 4800 MSP or $60; looking back it would be worth getting elite. I might half to get elite for Black Ops 2.

I bought hardened version for a great price (about £30 total) so am very happy for more achievements! :)

After September 5th, probably more gamers will buy ELITE. Seems like the COD ELITE is the way to go. I, for one, did not expect to see so much DLC for MW3!! Can't wait to see the new spec ops maps. Glad I have ELITE.

So I take it that the last DLC will not have achievements as it's only multiplayer maps? For me, I hope so.

But I bought Collection 1 and Collection 2 last time on sale for 600 each (1200 total). So even if I buy last two pieces for full price (2400 total) it makes 3600. Still cheaper then Elite for 4000 points ;)

I'm confused, and maybe someone here can help. The achievements listed as "Collection 3" here on TA. Are those included in the above Collection 3 Chaos pack? Or are they already out for non elite and I just missed it?

Also, wouldn't the total Gs end at the current amount, due to there being no more spec ops? Or will more achievements be added in to "Collection 3" on TA. They have managed to confuse a usually very informed gamer with all of this elite / nonelite garbage =[
