EA SPORTS Season Ticket to Include Free DLC

A change to benefits offered

Written by punkyliar on 06 August 12 at 15:16 | Credit to METAL MIN0TAUR

EA SPORTS introduced their season ticket just over a year ago. The offer gave gamers early access to all EA SPORTS titles via download, free access to premium web content, an exclusive online badge to use in game and 20% off all paid DLC for EA SPORTS titles. The incentive to purchase the season ticket just got better: The season ticket now includes access to premium DLC worth $100 across all five participating titles.

Season ticket holders will get all of this DLC for free:

Madden NFL 13
• One Legendary Pack and 24 Pro Madden Packs (over $30 in value)

NHL 13
• 24 NHL Premium Gold Packs (over $30 in value)

FIFA 13
• 24 FIFA Premium Gold Packs (over $30 in value)

• Unannounced content for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 and NCAA Football 14

To get access to the Season Ticket, gamers have to first download the free EA SPORTS app from here. Once the app is installed and launched, you can purchase the season ticket for 2000 MSP.

This is a nice deal for those who like Ultimate Team, but I have no interest in that mode. When Season Ticket came out last year, I was disappointed at how little content there was for the price. This makes it better, but again, only if you play UT.

Even then you can earn most of that stuff in the game, I think the Legendary Pack has to be bought, but Gold packs can just be bought in game. This is stupid to me

This is great for me considering i'm getting the ultimate edition of FIFA 13. It looks like i'm getting even more packs as well as being able to play the game a week early. Its about time this stupid subscription paid out something to make it worth the absurd amount of microsoft points you pay for it in the first place.

Early access is not really a good thing to pay for imo when everything is probably going to be needing fixed

I dont play any of these games or much of EA's on line stuff but from what i hear they always have issues with their servers on normal release so why the hell i would want to pay to get things that are glitchy earlier i dont know , it would be like paying to be a tester for them lol

Well all of those packs would certainly help to get the achievement for having an 85 rated MUT team, but I'm still not going to touch this with a 37-foot pole.

Good point but when you consider how much the packs actually cost on FIFA 13, this turns out to be a good purchase for people who are willing to spend their microsoft points on packs. In a way it saves money.

Usually 24 premium packs would cost 2880 MSP on the game itself.

But with the membership your getting a weeks early access to FIFA 13 as well as saving 880 MSP.

I played the FIFA Street early release in March and I didn't suffer any problems with that but whether or not FIFA 13 suffers problems is another story considering it will be much more popular and therefore the servers are much more likely to crash as a result.

This is a great deal for those UT players, but the only UT that I've found even remotely enjoyable is FIFA UT. Madden is way too unorganized and NHL just isn't nearly as fun...

Last year it was a week before so i'm assuming that will be the case this time as well. Its worth noting the FIFA Street early access was a week before release also.

The whole week early access thing...how does that work? Do you buy a digital copy of the game which you have access to a week earlier or something?

People tend to buy packs in the hope of gettings players such as Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo who are ridiculously expensive to purchase with coins.

Once you purchase the season ticket on the app you wait till the early access begins. When it begins you can then download a digital copy of the game for free which usually lasts until the day before release of the game. In which you will then have to buy the game for yourself from a retailer or online to continue playing.

Also worth noting no achievements earned will pop until you insert the game's retail disc. But then all of them earned will pop at once.
