Today, the developers over at Mediatonic raised the curtain, quite literally I might add, on their new XBLA game
FOUL PLAY: The Perilous and ENTIRELY ACCURATE adventures of Baron Dashforth! This game is about as original as you can get because
Foul Play is a side-scrolling brawler that actually rewards your performance over your fighting. Nothing has been spared in bringing this tongue in cheek, hard to believe, but ENTIRELY ACCURATE life-story of Baron Dashforth to life on the big stage.
So, without further ado, I would like you to meet the lead actor, Baron Dashforth.
In this game you must THRILL the audience with your Godly presence while performing crushing takedowns, throws, and timely reversals that are performed so well that the audience would think that they were choreographed before the show. As the Baron, you will be able to string together attacks by yourself or have your friend, who happens to be your co-star and loyal companion Scampwick, to help you on your adventure while you amaze the spectators with your flair and showmanship skills when you use every stage-trick you know to bring your audience to their feet with a thunderous standing ovation.
Playing as the lead actor, Victorian daemon-hunter Baron Dashforth, you will be smashing, striking, banishing and beating your way through the crazy costumed extras as you try to keep your audience on the edge of their seats and watching, as far as you're concerned, the greatest show on earth.

Baron Dashforth is like James Bond crossed with Baron Munchausen, except set in the late Victorian era, and he fights daemons instead of evil dudes, and I don’t THINK James Bond ever put on a play… and everything he claims to have happened is true. Probably. exclaims Creative Producer, Jeff Tanton, unhelpfully, before rallying with It’s this incredible fusion of arcade brawler, crowd-pleasing mechanics, over-the-top characters, and unique setting that’ll make Foul Play so much fun – working on the Xbox LIVE Arcade platform for the first time is very exciting, we’re getting to throw a whole bunch of awesome stuff into the mix that just wouldn’t have been possible before!
