| Agree with the above...servers have always been buggy as hell! Will be a first day buy for me but man I hope I can actually get a lag free match online |

Hugh G Wanger said:Agree with the above...servers have always been buggy as hell! Will be a first day buy for me but man I hope I can actually get a lag free match onlineExactly my own thoughts... if I can't play online (and what was the point of HAVING an online pass again?), it'll be the first WWE game I haven't bought in a good five or six years. I'm sick to death of buying these games and having problems syncing up with a friend of mine who just bought the game...why? Because he has DLC I don't have, or vice-versa? This is the only franchise in history in which I've ever encountered that, and it was present both before and after last years's overhaul. Result? WWE '12 has been in my console exactly 2 times since purchase. I have no desire to even learn the new control scheme because I can't play online.
And notice, of course, that they only mention online in passing here. No actual questions ABOUT it. SvR was infamous for having too many cheaters online, and I'll never know if WWE '12 was any better about that. Even when you COULD connect to someone, it was twenty different kinds of laggy. But by far the MOST frustrating thing was how online latency affects the pin meter.
The rest of this is good information. It's worth doing what they've been working with to get the game up to speed. But I have to say that hit detection and collision issues aren't nearly as important to me as how well the game plays. And I hate to bring up the old AKI N64 games like No Mercy again, but it's a good example of a game that had horrible hit detection and collision but was still incredibly fun to play. I'd honestly rather they work on features than making the game LOOK good. It's probably JUST me, but if they have to give up some things in order to give us others, I would rather have a large roster available by DLC (although, I know people will just bitch endlessly about how it's just a money grab), and just stored on my hard drive, than give up features and playability.
Another thing I wish they'd do is let me IMPORT MY CREATE-A-WRESTLER FROM PREVIOUS GAMES. God, I hate creating the same basic characters EVERY year, especially when I find that some moves have been taken away all together.
Attitude Era? ehhh... it was a period in which I was more willing to watch WCW because of what WWE was doing. You can call it "edgy" all day, while personally I think it was just trying to be as offensive to as many people as possible. I'd rather they give us the Invasion angle, and give us the chance to actually do it right... or give us storylines tied in with a bunch of different eras (Golden Age, 80s, Attitude, Monday Night Wars, Invasion, etc) to play around with than just one. But that's just me, and I'm sure a ton of people will buy this game just for that feature alone. It's a great idea, and maybe a great start to something better.
Even so, I'd still be more willing to buy an XBLA port of No Mercy, even if they had to change the name of every single wrestler involved for contractual reasons. I have at least one friend that, whenever he comes over, we break that game out, dust off the cobwebs and play it again. Still hasn't been a game with as in-depth of a character creation system or things you can do with match setups since it was released. |

| the online is GOOD, when its a private match when you search online it always finds people with a bad connection i always have full bars and they have 2 so they lag and win. |

| I don't see why should I buy WWE 13 really it isn't that much different than WWE 12. Online servers will be bad so not point of buying online pass and the roster, arenas etc I can download them from community creations (sure commentators might not say the names of downloaded superstars like Tensai or Ryback but it still better than buying another game for a full price just to have updated roster and anyway if I want to have authentic music I can always put custom music in their intros). I like it that they put Community Creations first in SvR 2010. It's only the reason why I buy online pass for SvR 2011 and WWE 12. It just reduces the need of buying whole new game. |

All i want to know is if the reversal button is still a trigger.
Seriously, what the hell were they thinking with that? A trigger?
"Yes, lets make the one action that requires really good reaction time be controlled by the one button type with the longest pull distance."
Bunch of idiots... |

| I can't wait for this game, but I'm sure some part of it is going to suffer. I would imagine the online will be the victim. |

| These games used to be a rental, then they made the "online pass" bs, I made the mistake of buying '12 on week one, and regretted it immensely. Haven't touched the game since I 1k'd it, and this one is almost assuredly a pass. |

The only online feature I use is the CC. And although WWE '12 was... do able, I really hope it will be better in WWE '13! There is nothing more frustrating then search a slow server for a caw and trying to dl it 8 times only to be able to download it the 9th time you try.
Also, I expect the Attitude era part of this game to be less as good as we remember it from the days. No s*ck it on the DX shirt of Mike Tyson, Stone Cold's middle fingers blured, the whole PG thing is making it hard to recreate an Attitude era.
They might as well make a story line with the focus on now and add Attitude Era superstars to the game, but not make a story line about the Attitude era with PG ratings!
There is no Attitude with PG ratings Cory!!! |
