Earlier this week, the very disappointing news that Konami would not be able to patch
the buggy Silent Hill HD Collection
caused quite a stir on TA and abroad. What hurt most is that the patch has been released on PS3, but the publisher said nothing could be done to patch the Xbox 360 version, due to a lack of resources.
A big company like Konami couldn't just sit by and let their reputation take such a blow, especially from the Silent Hill
faithful, so they're offering a consolation package to anyone who can present their receipt for the HD Collection
.If you purchased Silent Hill HD Collection for the Xbox 360 new and from a recognized retailer, and still have the original receipt, please send your receipt to Konami Customer Service for verification and further details on how to exchange your product. This offer is only valid for Silent Hill HD Collection (XBOX 360 version) games purchased on or before 08.08.2012. All requests must be made in writing and submitted on or before 10.07.2012 and is subject to availability. Any inquiries received after this date will not fall under this exchange program. This offer is valid for purchases made in North and South America.
Some sites, such as CheapAssGamer
, have shared rumors of which replacement games are eligible, but this has not been confirmed by Konami. For now, it's best to contact the publisher directly via their e-mail address (email@example.com) and provide proof of purchase.
The patch for Silent Hill: Downpour
is still in development for Xbox 360 and should arrive "at a later date."
