According to anonymous sources, Microsoft is currently engaged in talks with the Walt Disney Company in regards to offering ESPN programming through the Xbox Live online gaming service.

While this is in no way a done deal, an agreement between the two companies would allow for video streaming of live sports events through the ESPN network and allow Microsoft to charge a fee to viewers, much like a pay-per-view type of arrangement.

Considering Microsoft's recent efforts to expand the media content offered through the Xbox Live service, this may be the next logical step in offering a wide array of services to XBL subscribers.

Here's hoping that the involved parties will see eye-to-eye, as it were!
