Taylor Benson breaks it down

Written by Dat Boi Treezy on 24 August 12 at 00:26

A patch went live recently for Ubisoft's music title, Rocksmith. Instead of releasing a nice long list of the fixes and improvements made to the game, Ubisoft have released a trailer showing and telling us exactly what has changed with the update.

The game's producer, Taylor Benson, gives us the full breakdown on the changes in this trailer:

The patch was released on the 14th of August for the game, but hopefully now, players of the title will be more wiser as to what the changes were the next time your rocking out with Rocksmith.

I am personally waiting for the disc version that comes with the bass expansion. I have had the regular disc for almost a year, plus I don't have bass. I should be able to get it on sale on Black Friday, then I can just trade in my old disc.

But the new features with the patch are great!
Yes, I know I am.

As I understood it, you don't need a bass. You can use a guitar. But I could be wrong.

That was a really good idea to add Bass. I'm hoping one of my friends picks this up. I have a few that are really good at guitar and went to school for it. I'm not much for playing Guitar but I would love to check it out.

I can confirm that you can get all the achievements, including the Bass DLC ones, with a guitar.

The new and improved features are welcome. They still need to add a favorites or rating system. Even with the fast accelerator, it's a pain to locate a specific song. This is especially true if you have lots of DLC.

They seem to have broken the saving of the scores in Scale Runner. After this patch, you have to play them all in the same Scale Runner session to get the achievement.

From what I've read, this will be the only version available in Europe.

In the US, you can buy the original version for $46 + the bass expansion for 2400 MSP which is less expensive (especially if you've bought MSP at a discount from somewhere like Amazon).
