Neither the game or the show are out.
I've learned not to trust trailers thanks to Brink, Hunted, Crysis and RAGE. I learned not to trust SciFi when they started showing wrestling and producing the worst movies I've ever seen this side of Uwe Boll.
This game will not be a day one buy for me. Reviews first. The fact that it's also a new IP by a new developer is enough reason already. |

Trion Worlds is not a new developer.
Not saying I disagree with your post, but they are the people behind RIFT, which is an amazing game.
I don't know much about their two development studios, but I do know that they have some very experienced people in their HQ that have worked on several MMOs, some of them even having experience as far back as EverQuest, and possibly further.
If any studio can make something like this work, it's them. Or Blizzard, but Blizzard can make just about anything work. |

I want this to go well. It's such an interesting concept. But I just can't shake a few things.
Realistically, it's SyFy. Anyone who has seen anything they show on there today knows it's crap. I feel like the show will inevitably get canned and they'll attempt to keep the game going by itself.
And an alien invasion on Earth, forcing the humans to make a rebellion and fight back? Not only is this a worn out plot, but they have another show like that on tv called Falling Skies that just ended it's second season and is getting picked up for a third. They're too similar and I feel like it'll kill this. |

But the rest of my post sadly still stands.
It does give me hope that the game will be at least decent.
