Halfbrick’s Fruit Ninja Kinect arrived in 2011’s Summer of Arcade on XBLA, and was subsequently supported with three additional DLC releases afterwards. Now over a year after the initial launch, Fruit Ninja Kinect will be receiving its fourth downloadable add-on, dubbed “8-Bit Cartridge”.

Here we some screenshots to gawk at plus a trailer that showcases Fruit Ninja Kinect’s new retro look.

Mega Sword BladeIf this wasn’t enough, Halfbrick has announced that the 8-Bit DLC would be the “first of many more DLC packs” coming “throughout the remainder of 2012.” Sounds like an ambitious schedule to keep Fruit Ninja Kinect alive and strong for this year and beyond.

“8-Bit Cartridge” will arrive this Friday for 160 MSP. We’ve reached out to Halfbrick to find out if this DLC contains any new achievements, and we’ll be sure to update this part of the article if we find out more. If you’re heading to PAX Prime in Seattle this weekend, stop by the Halfbrick Booth (6615) to try out the new DLC, as well as receive a free download code for yourself!

Is there a game thats arcade that has more than 3 DLC with cheev taking it over 350 GS? I think thats against the rules...I hope they break it though cause I would like to play 8 bit but wont get it without cheevs!

This is actually the 5th DLC if I'm not mistaken. The free Christmas DLC lacked achievements. I am pretty pumped to play more of this though. I was sad when the DLC stopped flowing.


This is how you do DLC. Halfbrick is full of win!. Howabout a new Raskulls DLC now?
