Achievement hunters could previously choose to purchase Gotham City Impostors (PC) through Steam or Microsoft's Games for Windows shop front. Now, the Steam version of Monolith's game has gone through a structure change; the game is now free-to-play. Those who now download Gotham City Impostors Free To Play via Steam will have access to the full game and all of the DLC packs at no cost. What players won't have access to through the new version of the game is the GFWL achievements.

Players who have downloaded the game already, either through Microsoft's Games for Windows shop front or Steam's browser, can still choose to play the full GFWL version of the game. However, this version is no longer supported, despite still being available to purchase through the Games for Windows shop front. Alternatively, players can choose to migrate to the free-to-play version of the game:

I'm playing on the PC using Games for Windows LIVE, what does this mean for me?

A lot. Gotham City Impostors on Games for Windows LIVE will no longer be officially supported. So, while you can still play it, we won't be actively watching over it. But, you can use your Games for Windows LIVE CD key to get a special set of rewards, available only to those that played Impostors on the PC in what will soon be known as the “good ’ol days”! For more information on that, check out this handsome section of our website.
The exact implications of this are uncertain. Neither Monolith nor Warner Bros have confirmed for how long the GFWL servers will be available, so I would recommend trying to get all of the achievements in this game as quickly as possible. We'll bring you further clarification on this when we hear more.

The XBLA version of the game remains unaffected.
