Three weeks ago we covered the announcement
of a new online service, World Tekken Federation, for use with Tekken Tag Tournament 2
. The service will offer stat tracking, forums, facilities for forming clans and detailed histories for every fighter in the game. The price of this service was unknown at the time of the announcement and we promised that we would bring you more news if we heard any changes.
Namco Bandai has now announced that the service will be absolutely free. Namco's Vice President of Marketing, Carlson Choi, had this to say:With TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2, the team is committed to providing an unparalleled fighting game experience and are proving our dedication to this effort by offering World Tekken Federation free of charge to everyone who buys a copy of the game. Bringing together TEKKEN fans from around the globe in such a robust online community is a first for the fighting game genre and will give veterans and beginners a chance to develop their fighting skills in an exciting new way.

on September 11th in North America and September 14th in Europe.
